Sony KLV-S32A10 Thanks for all your recent help on our Sony with the snowy reddish distorted picture. We plugged in the pc with a borrowed VGA cable and the picture was still bad. You said that it would probably be the B board if this was the case. Is it obvious which is the B board and is it hard to replace? Where can I get the parts? Thanks for any help you can give me!

The part number for the B board is A1148426A, there is a newer version A1148426E, I checked the internet and I found one here:
http://www.shopjimmy.com/showparts.cfm?item=378903&ps=3789&pn=3
This part is a "pull", meaning it was used at some time and removed from a unit that was likely damaged and not worth repairing. At around $70, it's a bargain; the going rate is around $170-180. If you are handy with tools and take your time you should be able to replace it yourself. Good luck and be sure to rate this oslution.
Thanks!

Connecting RCA plug to speaker wires

You can connect the RCA plugs to the speakers. But, as for using the red/white Audio outputs you may need an amplifier, those connections are used when going into a dvd or vcr that boosts the signal in their own environment. If you have a connection for headphones on the TV you might have better luck there for the speakers.

Want external speakers for Sony TV Model KLV-S32A10

This is really easy. A pair of simple bookshelf speakers will do nicely. Simple speaker wire can be run to them, to extend whatever cable they have. If it's only screw terminals they have, so much the better.
You'll have to attach RCA plugs to the ends going to the TV, but that's easy.

Snowy, reddish, weird picture

If the menu and OSD are OK, that probably eliminates the panel and TCON board. That still leaves the A3U board which does all the switching and intial processing of the video signal and the B board which does final video process and panel drive. The is one simple way of narrowing it down: hook up a PC to the 15 pin VGA connector (make sure the PC is set for a 60 hertz refresh rate). If you can see the problem when using the computer input, it is most likely the B board. The B board is the most likely cause of video distortion problems. Please be sure to rate this solution. Thanks!

Sony Bravia KLV-40U100M-screen is distorted, overlay or various vertical lines

The resolution on this was to check the surge protector the television was plugged into. Once we unplugged and plugged into another surge protector, the screen went back to normal and the appearance was great. We believe this was due to one of the resistors within the surge protector may have become faulty.
