You don't disable it from there. Reenable it again and do it right: you uninstall its drivers from Programs and you reboot twice; you install the new card and you connect the monitor to it; when the pc starts you go directly in the BIOS and you disable the onboard card from there; you reboot one more time and you install the drivers for the new card.
I had this same Problem..ASUS 9800GT.It Happened when i play F.F.O.W...and BF2......but not on any other games..(Americas Army...Need 4 Speed..etc)...i turned off the Physx and whola...no problem no more.

Yes you can buy it to any computer stores or electronic stores, bring the graphics cards, so they repair it, they have also other chip that has the same specifications and functions.

replace the graphics card, ours was going black here and there the last few months then finally it didn't work at all, we just replaced it today and the new graphics card (ati) works fine.
