My printer has all of a sudden decided to print strange lines across my printed documents i get different colors on each attempt it seem like the inks are blocked but if i do a nozzle check it seems clear what is wrong? i recently put new cartridges in too cuz i thought it was empty.
You can get this sometimes in Publisher programmes, it's a glitch, but also check cartridge alignment. If your not happy uninstal printer driver, disconnect printer and re instal driver first then re connect your printer.
By the look of the image i think the head has gone on the printhead.
If i remember this model uses a cartridge which doesnt have the actual printing part on the cartridge, it's bult into the machine.
Just incase you want to check alignment(although it doesn't look like that)it should be in the printers tools programme with the nozzle check and clean.
unless the cartridges you are purchasing aren't very reliable (eg not geniune epson) the cost would'nt be worth it to replace heads(the bit that puts the ink on the paper), you can buy a good epson printer now for under £50.00 Sterling

Hi thanks for the reply,
You say check the cartridge alignment what does that mean? im a novice really with printers all i know is how to put the cartridge in and use the cleaning utilities to unblock nozzles i have tried uninstalling the printer driver ive just recently reformated my hardrive and it still was weird it was doing these strange lines before i put new cartridges in too. i have scanned a image of what my print outs look like.
The cartridge just slots into the cartridge holder thing so what do i need to do to fix this? or is it not fixable you said the print head has gone what do you mean by that do you not think it could be due to clogged nozzles? cuz some colour comes out but others dont its all weird.
Hi I have worked out what was wrong with my printer for some reason when i try printing from my laptop it works fine if i connect it back up too the pc its got the vertical lines again why would this be happening ive uninstalled and let xp reinstall the epson driver through plug and play but it still causes the issue both computers use xp and both have let xp install the printer driver, thank for your time.
