    water leaking during wash cycle

  • hduffy Nov 15, 2008

Sporadic leaking, appears to be left front. LG tech support says to frequently drain the compartment for the filter on the lower left but this doesn't make sense. Entire system should be water tight. Help

The only time I've noticed a puddle on the floor was when I used too much HE detergent. No matter how big the load is, I only fill the cup to the very first line of the cup that comes with the detergent. It's no where near the max level on the detergent reservoir for the machine. Try using less detergent (way less) and see if that fixes the problem. My clothes still get squeaky clean!

Front loader leaking underneath in the back corner on the left hand side

If its leaking during the fill cycle, its one of the water valves (solenoids) or associated hoses, loose clamps, etc. If its leaking during draining its the drain hoses, pump, clamps etc. Easiest way to tell. Pull it out, if you can remove the back, run it and look for the leak. Just don't touch anything while its running, you don't want to lose a finger or get electrocuted.

Leaking from left corner GLD2250rd Frigidaire dishwasher

Your drain tube may be stopped up with ice at the upper end because it drains too slow because it's stopped up at the lower end in the evaporator pan under the unit at the floor. It can get dust and mold in it. Once you get the ice out at the top a little pressure with a turkey baster will usually clear it out. Flushing it out with hot water and clorox may help. Make sure it drains quick enough to prevent refreezing. . The drain should be located below the evaporator coils on the lower back of the freezer.

Front door leaking during washing cycle

There are only two ways that water can leak out this way. it can be either the door seal or the door lock mech has become misaligned, causing a slight gap that is letting the water escape through.

I recommend inspecting the door lock mech for its integrity. make sure it is aligned correctly to specs. replace this mechanism if found to be faulty or misaligned. i would also inspect the seal for tiny ruptures as well. the slightest rupture or hole can allow small amounts of water to excape.

Inspect these areas thouroughly.

Kenmore Washer Leak

Check the back of the tub as the water is coming in. Sometimes the water inlet gets knocked out of line if the machine shakes a lot or gets moved.

Leaking from the front top of machine immediately when cycle begins...

Not sure if this is the same problem but my old WD800 used to spew water out of the top left corner where the detergent tray is. This occurred at one point in the cycle. It was cured by turning down the incoming water pressure on the external tap under the kitchen sink (in this particular case, the cold water)
