Problem with the Mackie SRM 450 v2

Hello, I have the question concerning problem with one of my Mackie speakers. First , the blue led from front panel is burned, so I need symbol of it, beacuse I must buy it before I visit my friend's electronic service. Second thing is that the speaker after the fixing the bass during guarantee, the service broke the "high pass" function. Right now when i pushed it, the sound is decreased about 99%, not only base range. Anybody had similar problem and could give me some clues which I could bring to my friend service ? Thank you in advance . PS In Poland I cannot find "legal" Mackie service so I need buy all spare parts here or on ebay.

I suspect the power supply has a problem.

It would be very unusual if the blue LED is burned out. They should last a million years. I suspect the power supply has a problem.

SOURCE: ONLY GETTING MUFFLED SOUND FROM

If you've changed the tweeter and the sound is still muffled the fault is with the HF amp, or the cross-over. You will have to send the amp assembly for repair as it is all surface mount components in there -nothing you will be able to fix yourself. Sorry for the bad news!

Power supply circuit diagram

There is almost certainly a reason the PSU has blown, these are not very reliable units and the amp has probably gone and taken the PSU with it. You are better off taking it to a dealer and getting it fixed. If there is no power on the seecondary and there is no short the transformer must have blown (assuming you're not trying to check with a DC meter)

Mackie srm 350v2 speaker packed up

I believe there is an internal fuse in these which, according to a friend who has these, seems to blow occasionally for no apparent reason. He has also had to send two back for replacement and would not buy again, they seem to be inherently unreliable although they sound great.

Make sure you are driving LINE LEVEL signals to this and not mic level signals.

Need spec on Mckenzie loud speakers 12'' dual cone 85 watts rms

What\'s the question, are you asking about eyebolts, SRM 450 or McKenzie speakers?

Let\'s assume speakers. These are quite nice vintage speakers and were fitted in a number of units back in the day. Depending on the use they are going to be put to you\'ll need to find the dimensions of similar boxes for the same use and speaker size from (ideally) makers who used these speakers or something similar. It\'s going to be a bit suck it and see and will also depend on if you are looking to use an infinate baffle, sealed or vented enclosure.

What size internal fuse on mackie srm450v2 speaker

Mackie say this is not a user service part. If the fuse has blown there is probably a fault in the unit being their reasoning. I know for certain they tend to blow for no apparent reason so it is worth giving it a go. They are 5 x 20 Slow or time fuses. 7A for 120V and 4A for 230V

I have Mackie SRM450v2 speakers, one has no power, I think the fuse has blown, it it possible for me to change this myself? The manual says it's not user serviceable.

Chances are if the fuse has blown, there are failed electronic components that caused the failure.

Here is a service manual that will be CLOSE to your unit, though not exact:

http://elektrotanya.com/mackie_srm450_active_speaker.rar/download.html

Scroll down to the "Get Manual" on the site and click on the link. The file is compressed. The first part is the schematic, the second the assembly and parts list. Likely the main low freq power amp has shorted transistors.

Problem with Mackie SRM450V2: HFsignal bleeding through LF driver, low HF OUTPUT also. Filter problem i suspect.

There is an entire crossover circuit inside that is BEFORE the amp section. There are 2 separate amps: one for HF and one for LF. Can you describe the noise you are hearing in more detail? Is hte sound effected by the gain controls at all? What happens without any input?

Thanks,
Dan

Repair a Mackie SRM 450 Speaker The Speaker is making a crackling sound while playing. The sound keeps cracking up.

You probably need to replace the diaphragm. The diaphragm is located behind the back cap. Simply remove the back cap, remove the diaphragm, clean the voice coil gap with a piece of masking tape, install a new replacement diaphragm, reinstall the back cap. That it!
You can see videos on how to replace diaphragm at this link.
