SOURCE: dryer not always heating
Hello cab-0131,
Welcome to fixya.com
Huuum at your service!
It could be a relay!Or thermostat!
But first try this to reset the system!
As with an error code.
This can reset the system.
First unplug the washer and wait a 5 minutes then restart it.If you can't reach the plug, use the breakerto cut the power for 5 minutes
It's like rebooting your computer when its acting strange!
Usually it corrects some error problems if they are not serious.
Or they are sometimes just a glitch.
Let me know???
How old is the appliance?
Bless You

If there's heat inside the drum the heater coils should be ok, however your model has 2. With the door open and the machine running, look inside at the back of the drum and look for 2 glowing element coils. If one is not working you will not have enough heat.
Check the
exhaust vent, make sure it's not kinked or squished behind the
machine and that the outside vent is not clogged with lint. You should
feel air blowing freely to the outside.
If there is no heat, first
check for 240V at the outlet. If you have 240V, it could be the
element, the hi-limit thermostat, the thermal cut-off, the timer, the
motor or a wiring issue (loose or shorted).
Good luck!.

Does it get hot when you turn it on, and then never gets hot again while its running? On my dryer the solenoid broke, when the dryer was cold it worked and the dryer operated properly because the dryer and solenoid were cold and the solenoid wire was closed, when the dryer was hot enough the solenoid opened and the heat would not restart. the solenoid is a coiled wire which is used to open the gas valve.

All of the above are easy do at home repairs if you re handy. You should be able to get a good idea of what is wrong just by turning the dryer drum by hand. If the problem is the front bearing or guides, you will hear a grinding noise in the front at the top of the door.
