My TV runs fine for about 1/2 hour and shuts off, I start it again and it works fine for awhile longer and shuts off again. If I start it again the durration that it stays on seems to get shorter and shorter.
I had the same problem with my 50" Samsung. I solved it by aiming an external fan (4" from Tru-Value for $4) at the rear of the set in the bulb area. The added air-flow keeps things cool and the set runs until I shut it off. Samsung's fan wasn't powerful enough in the beginning, and when it loses the slightest bit of performance, it overheats and shuts down.
Hope this helps.
Sounds like an intermittent shut down which is heat related. some part , maybe one stuck on a heatsink is warming up and running too much current triggering shutdown.
to find it you can tell what is shutting down with a voltmeter, or you can heat suspected parts with a blow dryer to speed the shutdown .. or freeze spray to see if it goes beyond your shutdown time.
