Crackling sound continues when draining water. It operated with no issue for some time, but now the leak is back. When it first happened the leak from the drain pump got consistently worse.

I fixed the problem myself. I took the drain pump assembly out. I unscrewed it open and cleaned out the inside. I put it back together and reinstalled it. I also noticed that there was a wire from a bra that was stuck in in the rubber hose that leads from the tank into the drain pump - so no coins here but a wire. I of course removed it. So far i tested it once and it seems to work fine.

SOURCE: water will not pump out

Before you replace the pump; check to make sure there is no debris in the pump or hoses. I just pulled a baby sock from inside the impeller part of my pump.
–It was an easy repair. Just unplug your machine. Remove the back access plate (2 screws). Disconnect the hoses (be sure to have towels handy – you may have up to 12 gallons of water drain out –I had about 2 gallons). With a flashlight inspect the impeller, if there is debris -it is most likely your culprit.

SOURCE: How come it will not drain water after running a

First place to check is the drain pump filter. Low and to one side on the front panel is the access to the pump filter,, A small hatch or maybe behind the kick panel.
Unplug electricity to machine.
Make sure the machine has as little water in it as possible, because when you open the drain pump filter any water in the machine will run out.
Lean the machine back against the wall will help contain any water left in the machine.
Unscrew the filter cover and clean. Check that a hairpin or bra wire or coin is not jammed in the pump impeller.
Replace the filter cover and test.. If you aren't able to do this or the pump still won't work, you probably need a serviceman to check it out.. You may need a pump motor replacement
Not a big job
Good luck....Nomess

Frigidaire front load washe makes an awful noise when water starts to drain

Yes normally remove the bottom panel and the pump is in the front on the right side. Some companies recommend you clean it every few months. Also some will let out water when you open it up, so have a towel ready.

SAMSUNG MODEL DV218AEB/XAC LEAKING WATER

Dryers don't use water, washing machines do, so it's probably the washer.

If the dryer is drying, then it's not moisture.

Check the house drain for the washer, watch it drain and make sure it's not backing up, check the drain hose.

Hose leak connection drain hose to washer

Seems peculiar to me there's so much pressure on a drain hose. Are you pumping to a drain much higher than the top of the washer?

Just pumping water out of a drain hose shouldn't create much pressure unless the hose is kinked or restricted. Look for that problem first. You could get a hose clamp from an auto parts store that's much more reliable than the spring clamps you're describing. I would try that on the inside and outside connection and see if it solves the problem.

The washer started making a noise about a month ago, kind of like change rattling in the bottom of the machine. Today the machine leaked water all over the laundry room and down the hall. It didn't come...

sounds like the water pump, is leaking or the rubber hose from the drum to the pump. its very hard for money to get thru the filter holes, of the drum to the pump

Leaking water at the bottom and making load noise

Hi,
From the description of your problem, there are two possibilities.
One, water valve will have to be replaced.
Second, the area of the leak indicates a leaking drain pump.

Hope this helps.

Awful noise! duet washer

This advice is for Kenmore Elite and Whirlpool Duet model FRONT LOADING washing machines. If you experience a problem where the washer does not drain properly or the drain pump makes excessive noise, here’s the information you need to check the drain pump:

Symptom: PUMP IS RUNNING, BUT NOT DRAINING PROPERLY.

  1. Unplug the washer while servicing inside the unit.
  2. Remove the lower kick panel under the door by removing the three 7mm screws under the bottom edge of the panel. HINT: Use a couple of blocks of wood to prop up the front feet of the washer to gain better access to the screws. Once the screws are removed the panel should drop down, and then pull off. If the panel becomes stuck, a slight tap on either side will dislodge it.
  3. Locate the drain pump. It will be located directly under the wash tub (it is the only pump this washer has).
  4. There is an access removal cover on the pump that can be removed to clean out the trap. BEFORE doing this, it is strongly recommended that you remove all residual water from the wash tub & drain line or you will have about a gallon or so inside your washer and on the floor to clean up.
  5. Here’s a helpful way of quickly removing the residual water. If you own a wet/dry shop vac, remove the drain hose from the standpipe at the wall and pull a vacuum with the shop vac. This will empty the wash tub, pump and drain lines. If you don’t own a shop vac, grab a bunch of old towels and open the access on the pump slowly so that it comes out at a trickle. Allow the towels to soak up the majority of the water. Close the access and stop the water if you need to get additional towels.
  6. Open the pump access and remove once you have all the water drained. Check the drain pump for foreign objects and debris. Check the pump impeller and make sure there’s nothing caught in it. Items as small as toothpicks or cotton swabs have been known to stop this pump from working.
  7. Clean out the pump thoroughly and reinstall the access cover. Make sure the cover is snug, but do not over tighten.
  8. Place the drain hose back in the standpipe (IMPORTANT – DO NOT FORGET!).
  9. With the bottom panel still off, plug the washer back in and select the following on the operator console – DRAIN SPIN, NO SPIN, and then press any button under OPTIONS 4 times (it must be the same button). “C00” will show on the console display as the washer begins diagnostics mode.
  10. Check the drain pump for leaks as the washer fills. The pump is gravity filled and will hold water even it is not pumping. Allow washer to run through diagnostics until it begins the wash tub tumble cycle.
  11. At this point, you can stop the diagnostics procedure by pressing PAUSE/CANCEL 2 times. The drain pump energizes and the washer will begin to drain.
  12. If the drain pump works normal and there are no leaks detected, reinstall the bottom panel and tighten screws.

NOTE: It is normal to have residual water left inside the wash tub under the wash basket. This is why it is important to leave the door ajar when not in use so this water does not become sour.

Here is the Service Manual

Bonus, it actually completes a wash cycle and does not stick at 6 minutes, drying forever.

Freakin service tech stated it was the Power Control Board, IDIOT!

While I was in there, I cleaned out the heater blower assembly and sensors. They were full of caked on lint and the sensors had debris all over them.

Also cleaned out all the lint and debris around the rubber seal, this will eliminate those annoying mildew oders.

Hope this helps someone, Happy New Year!
