take off the top of the waher and look at the suspensions springs and make sure they are attached.you may also need to remove the back panel and look at the shocks to see if they are in good working order.
You have now found the problem that caused your old belt to fail. you will need to replace your idler lever assembly. go to www.partselect.com and enter your model number. This is your part number you will need. PS2027756 The site will give you a parts blowup so that you can see the part you need. You can also order the part from them. The Idler lever is worn and causing your belt to be misaligned.

Sounds like a belt has gone bad. Tip the waher toward the wall. You might see two belts. If you do not, get me you model # and I will see exactly what nodel you have.
Please let me know if I can assist you further
Check the lid switch first.. if that's ok..then you may have a broken drive belt or the load is too great for the waher to move it.. Do you hear the motor spinning but the drum isn't rotating? Or is it just not doing anything during the spin cycle? Hope that helps..
Pull your washer forward then tilt the top backwards until it sits at about a 45 degree angle. There should be a belt and 3 pulleys underneath. Remove the belt (one of the pulleys will move to allow slack) Ignore the moving pulley and the large pulley in the center. The third pulley is your pump. Try to turn it by hand, it should move freely. Presumably, it wont and will need to be replaced.
with the belt off the pump pulley should turn freeley if it does then with the belt off and in the spin position start the washer with the lid down the motor should run
it it does then you have a transmission problem
if the motor does not run then there is a electrial componet problem
does this washer have belts
