I have the entire factory manual for this and it does not have that information---the original owner manual will have that information.

Best way here for you is to call Sony Customer Service and have them step you thru this--all done with the remote and the power button on the set.

You might also request if you do not have it either a free printed copy or a link that will provide you with one online for free.

Need to understand what to order. TV will not go

Actually you need just the lamp, I mean you can get the housing also, but it's not necessary. WIth the lmap itself you'll be just fine. It's not hard to change, there's this page where they have video guides of how to replace them. www.fixyourdlp.com

Mitsubishi HC900 Projector shuts down after 5 minutes.

You have 1 of 2 possible problems.

(1) You need a new lamp.

(2) You have an overheating problem.

Just a quick couple of notes about your projector. It is a DLP projector (not LCD) and as such the machine as no air filters to clean. It does have air intake and air exhaust grilles, but no air filters to clean. This next part comes directly from the owner' manual for your projector:

When the lamp operation time exceeds 2000 hours*1 *2, the projector automatically shuts off and can’t be used until the lamp is replaced and the lamp operation time is reset.

Your machine is designed to give visual warning messages at 1500 hours used, and 1900 hours used. Did you see any visual warning about lamp life over the past few months?

If you were experiencing an overheating problem, a "TEMPERATURE!!" message would flash up on the screen just before the unit shuts down. If there is no warning, you don't have a heat problem.

If you have a replacement lamp available, install it and reset the lmap hours according to your user manual. If you don't have the manual, google it on the web (it available).

The power LED and LMAP LED are blinking rapidly simultaneously

Will you will have to replace it now because this is the most likely cause for the blinking lights. Look in the instruction book for the directions on how to remove the lamp. You will find that it has burned out. It is easy to replace. You can order one from JVC or a service center, or a parts distributor.
