This is what I did. Had to do this a few times, but the last time haven't needed to for a while.

Pull the oven out from the wall. Turn off the power or unplug. Behind the control panel on the back, unscrew the upper access panel. You will see large ribbon cables connected to the touch control panel that the touchpad operates. It's pretty obvious what the large touchpad ribbons are. Disconnect those. You will have to unsnap part of the plastic holder that clip the ribbons into place. Those ribbons get full of steam and particles and as a result have a poor connection to the touch panel. Wipe them off with cotton balls or paper towel keeping them free of lint and such.

I originally used rubbing alcohol but you have to be very careful not to rub off the metal connections on the ribbon. If you start to see any removal the metal on the ribbons, stop right away. If you don't want to use alcohol, use water instead but get them clean and then dry.

Reconnect the ribbons making sure they are secure with the clip, and test the panel. What I did this last time is used a little bit of electrical grease and put a thin layer on the ribbons.

That has solved the problem for several months now and I haven't had to repeat this process since that time. I did actually have to trim the ribbon ever-so-slightly with a pair of scissors since the first time I did this a few years ago I was too aggressive in rubbing the electrical contacts clean. I ended up actually removing some of the electrical contact material at the end of the ribbon the first time when I was too aggressive.

Good luck!

The problem is in the keypad control board and must be replaced, I would consider cost before you allow the go ahead.

SOURCE: How do I replace a LG LMV1630ST microwave oven door handle?

Normally you have to separate the door panels (as shown in the attached photo) and then you'll see the screws you need to remove.

Or you can watch a YouTube video (not a video I made) here that demonstrates how it's done.

Nothing on keypad for my microwave works

Be very careful around microwaves they have very high voltage inside them that can be deadly. As for the control panel its very common for grease and oil to get behind the plastic film of the control panel, once it does the buttons will stop working since the grease insulates the contacts. Unplug it from the power, let it sit for 60 minutes to make sure all power from the high voltage caps has dissipated. Get access to the back of the control panel. You will probably have to peel back the control plastic on the front to get behind it. One behind clean all the buttons and contact areas. Reassemble, and it should work.

LG LMV1630ST over the counter microwave has fan that will not shut off

Unfortunately, about the only thing you can do is to replace the switch. We don't service microwaves that often so I am not to sure of where the switch is located on your unit. So here is the layout for your unit, and you can find the correct switch on the diagram and then look it up on the right side.

The numbers 1 3 5 9 0 and the kitchen timer button on my control pad do not work. Do you think it would be the circuit board for the control panel ? If so do you think it will be easy to fix once I find...

It will be fairly straight forward to fit and one should be able to purchase a spare control pannel from ebay, espares or from the manufacturers agent.
Hope this helps.

Turntable won't turn

Look at the front panel, at the bottom, in the middle.
Identify the button labeled "Turntable On/Off".
Push it.
Slap yourself on the forehead.
Next time you fumble to turn of the light in the dark, push the right button.

My LG LMV1630ST has an issue with the clock. The

The first thing I would suggest is a hard reset. Unplug the unit for a minute or so. Then plug it back in, set the clock and try again.

If that doesn't work, leave it unplugged for about 5 minutes.

Is it a US model (made for 60HZ power) being used overseas
(50HZ power)?
