Problem with Systemax Ascent PC Desktop Im trying to fix my friends comp. it crashed so I am reinstalling from his original CD. setting up windows XP on Systemax venture computer says set up can not access this disk 8057 MB Disk 0 at Id 0 on bus 0 on atapi (setup can not access this disk) it gives me 3 choices. I can press enter and let it setup on that disk is it will or I can Press C and creat a Partition in the Unpartition space or I can Press D and delete the selected partition. which on should I select?
D to Delete all the partitions on the drive to get all the space into one big contiguous space. Then try installing.
So you power on the press F4 repeatedly to get to the recovery and it does nothing. Where did you get the notion to hit F4, is that the correct key to get into the Recovery?
Next time you boot it up look at the screen and see what key it says to hit to get into the BIOS or System Setup. Take a look at the disk drives. Does it show one or two hard drives? Also look within the Bios to see if you see a reference to AHCI. If you do try changing it from AHCI, i've seen cause problems sometimes.
Also remove the power cord, remove the case, then go inside the computer and remove the two connections that go into the hard drive. One will be the power source to the drive and the other will be the interface cable (ide or sata). Leave it off while you plug the power cord in then Press and Hold the power button for 30 seconds. Afterwards remove the power cord and put everything back and give it a try. For some reason it's having a time recognizing your drive and the format of your drive.
When I turn on my pc it tells me to restart

SOURCE: Systemax factory restore - how?
Tap F4 repeatedly to launch the recovery console on SystemMax Machines with the recovery partition still intact. Then you should be able to restore the machine to factory defaults without a CD.

When I pushed D to delete I got a message saying it can not delete the Partition because there were files that need to be there or something like that. I also tried next but got the STOP Error again...Sometimes I get 2 errors...Here they are...

Im lost I have not a clue as to what I need to do. I tried the other solution tap f4 to bring up Recovery but that wouldn't work. I tried to get to safe mode but it wouldn't allow me to do that either. I was wondering if anyone had a recovery cd i could download to a CD and then try that. I want to Thank EVERYONE for your help! I hope one day I can help someone too. God Bless and Happy Easter
Also, I'm not sure if the information as to what kind of computer was right in the beginning. I took all the information I could find off the computer. Here it is. Systemax Venture P4M800 - M7A Main Board Intel Celeron inside..Windows XP Home Edition . Product Key~FQ2MD-Q89BY-DPQ4J-G7JJ7-74XDJ
