Monitor will not turn on as in NO Power? When you hit the Power Button the monitor power light does not come on? If so either the power cord is not plugged in good, maybe the outlet you have it plugged into the wall or power strip is not working, or the Monitor is bad and needs to be replaced.

If you are saying the monitor has power but the display is black then:
Look to see if it sounds like the computer is running but nothing is shown on the screen. If so try this:

Shine a flashlight on the dark screen to see if you barelysee the icons on the desktop. If so, then the LCD Inverter is bad.

Plug in an external monitor and see if the display shows up on it. It can beany kind of monitor even the old big fat crt monitors as long as it has a vgacable to connect to your computer's vga port. If so that proves yourvideo card is ok. The video will show on most systems when you rebootwithout you having to do anything. Some systems will require you to hit the FN(Function key) + F1 thru F12. Hold down the FN key then hit the correctkey for displaying on the monitor (F1 thru F12). The correct key willnormally have CRT/LCD on it or it will have the icon of a display.

If you see no icons by shinning a flash light and the external monitor works, then your screen is bad. If you see no icons by shinning the flash lightand nothing shows on the external monitor, then most likely your video card isbad.

Computer won't start

Check if the lock lights on top of the keyboard turns on or off when you press/toggle the capslock or the numlock key. If it does, you have an LCD or video card issue. Connect an external monitor to your laptop, if you have one. Turn the computer on. If both LCD and monitor dont have video, try pressing Fn F8 together once, twice or thrice. If you get video on the external monitor. the lcd screen may have loose connection or damaged. If no video on both, might be a bad video card.

RESTARTING COMPUTER(AMIGOS)

hi powee;
have you recently installed some device driver?

This error usually occurs after the installation of a buggy device driver, system service, or BIOS. To resolve it quickly, restart your computer, and press F8 at the character-mode menu that displays the operating system choices. At the resulting Windows 2000 Advanced Options menu, choose the Last Known Good Configuration option. This option is most effective when only one driver or service is added at a time.

hope it resolves your problem

Try plugging a video monitor AKA your TV into that monitor output connector on the rear of the yamaha.
Select video in on the TV and see if anything shows up from the yamaha

Sounds though like the receiver has serious issues. If you can get your moeny back , do so

Monitor on but not working properly

If you just built the computer..the motherboard will give you a warning that some hardware has changed. you have to connect your keyboard and go into the bios and make sure everything is right. To be safe select set to default factory settings , save and reboot the computer. This is to prevent the settings for a previous cpu be used for the new one.

My monitor changes color on it's own.

I doubt if this is related to the software you installed. Check the video lead that runs from the PC to the monitor. Sometimes the insulation becomes damaged or the wires break. With the computer on gently wiggle the lead around at one end or the other while watching the monitor, if the colour flickers then you have found the location of the fault. Also check the plugs are in firmly.
