Picture problem When turned on, 4-5 colored lines appear across the top of the screen. Whithin seconds, a scrunched image appears at the top, or the entire picture appears. Then the screen turns black, within seconds. Once the picture goes, it does not reappear while still turned on. When turned off and back on, the cycle repeats. Sound is OK. Connections are good.

Usually that symptom is caused by cracked solder joints on the vertical output IC. As the IC starts heating up, the picture starts breaking up at the top with several "dancing" dark lines appearing, the top scrunches down and then when the vertical quits altogether, the screen goes completely black. A good slap on the side of the TV might make it happen faster or clear it up temporarily. If you have experience working on PC boards then you can resolder the pins of the vertical output IC but if you have never soldered parts on PC boards then allow a qualified tech to handle it for you.

Image has lines and pink in colour

This maybe two problems, the pink color hue in the picture and lines from lens shutter problems. Your LCD is still good. You have to replace motherboard and lens.

I have a Mitsubishi WD-62525. In general the picture is great from all sources (cable, component, and hdmi). However, there occasionally are very thin, horizontal lines that flicker across the screen....

I have seen this problem before. It is usually caused by a malfunctioning color wheel. Replacing it should resolve the problem. Let me know if you wish to fix it yourself so that I can find you a replacement.

Sony KV-35S42 35" TV

Check first for bad solder on the vertical IC, Im not sure for your set as I do not have the service manual, but it may be location IC301. If after resoldering it does not fix it you may have to replace it and you should replace the electrolytic capacitors in the vertical section. Hope this helps. Don
