Re: HP C3150 Cartridge stuck
-
Press the Power button ( ) to turn the product on, if it is not already on.
-
Open the cartridge door. The carriage might try to move into the access area at the right. Allow it to move to that position.
-
Wait until the carriage is idle and silent.
-
Without turning off the product, disconnect the power cord from the back of the product.
WARNING:
You will move parts by hand in the following steps. You must disconnect the power cord to eliminate the risk of an electrical shock and to reset the paper-feed mechanism.
-
Looking in through either the cartridge door or the output tray, make sure the cartridges have not come loose in the carriage. Push each cartridge inward to securely lock them in place.
-
Check for and remove any obstructions under or around the carriage that might prevent it from moving.
-
Make sure the carriage can move freely across the width of the product by firmly pushing the carriage to the left, and then to the right.
-
Close the cartridge door.
-
Reconnect the power cord to the back of the product.
-
Press the Power button ( ) to turn on the product.
-
Allow the product to warm up, and then try the print job again.
-
Check the cartridges for damage:
NOTE:
The product must be on or it will not release the cartridges.
-
Wait until the carriage is idle and silent, and then lightly press down on a cartridge to release it. Pull the cartridge toward you out of its slot.
-
-
The tri-color cartridge is on the left.
-
The black cartridge is on the right.
-
Check the cartridges for damage, and then replace any damaged cartridges. Check for obstructions under and around the carriage.
CAUTION:
Do not touch the copper-colored contacts or ink nozzles. Touching these parts can result in clogs, ink failure, and bad electrical connections.
-
Follow these instructions to install the cartridges correctly.
-
If you are installing a new cartridge, remove the cartridge from the packaging, and then remove the pink-protective tape.
-
Hold the cartridge by its sides, with the contacts facing into the carriage.
-
Slide the cartridge at a slight upward angle into the empty slot, and then gently push it until it snaps into place.
-
To install a tri-color cartridge, insert it into the left slot.
-
To install a black cartridge, insert it into the right slot.

I have a similar problem. The carriage WAS stuck on the left hand side, but I discovered this was due to the color cartridge having fallen slightly out of its cradle. Although it wasn't easy to get to, I did manage to push it back in and move the carriage over. Now the carriage seems to be getting stuck trying to moving from the right hand side of the printer to the left hand side, but there is no obvious obstruction, and the cartridges are correctly installed. I can move it, but only by lifting the carriage slightly. Help!
