SOURCE: Hi,I turned on my Marshall mg series 100 dfx and

I suspect the power supply for the effects processor has failed. The effects unit will "go crazy" when power supply is too low voltage.

If the amp has loud noise, then the power amp portion is PROBABLY OK.

I had a similar problem in a Behringer amp caused by a bad electrolytic filter cap.

SOURCE: marshall mg 100hdfx fan

Some of the Marshall equipment uses computer size fans and even on occasion the same connection.

Take the bad fan with you to a computer repair shop it will be much cheaper than a marshall part they should be able to help you out

Testimonial: "that sounds like the best way to do it..will just take fan to computer shop and try and get a replacement...thanks for the assistance"

SOURCE: Buzzing fan on a Marshall mg 100 head

Try to remove the fan and look for the sticker on the back side where the wires come out.

Remove the sticker, underneath it there will be a small aluminium cap (sometimes there is no cap and the axis is readily visible when you remove the sticker).

Take the cap off with a sharp tool (it shouldn't require a lot of force to do it), now you should be able to see the fan axis being held in place by a small clamp - put a drop or two of machine oil in there, move the fan blades a little to make the oil flow past the axis into the bearing.

Reinstall the cap, put the sticker back in place, reinstall the fan and test it.

Sometimes this will make things better, but if it doesn't then it is only fair to replace the fan.

My mg 100fx has a scratchy pot in the master volume, i have the face pate out and have sprayed the master very carefully. the problem is still there?

What did you spray it with? I hope NOT Deoxit or Blue shower as those wreck the pots by removing the lube.

Use CRC226 available in the electrical dept at Home Depot. Use the plastic tube by bending it so it can spray upward into the slot where the leads that solder into the board go into the metal can.

Spray a little in and work the pot... then try a little more and see if it improves the situation. If it does, treat all the pots the same. ALSO look for broken solder where the pot wires solder to the circuit board..

Hi i have the Marshall MG15FXMSDM Dave Mustaine Megastack and i also have the programmable footswitch. the other day, i was plugged into a big surge protector and the footswitch was working fine. i...

First thing is to verify the MAIN power source is getting to the amp. It may not be the fault of the footswitch at all. Connectors and cables are the usual cause of these problems. Seating of connectors is a common problem...

Feedback noise when overdrive is on

it could be your guitar pickups. try using another guitar or getting your pickups waxed at your local music store. also if your playing in a small room kind of loud, or if your using single coil pickups (like fender statocaster pickups) you will definitely get a feedback noise. if that does not work let me know.
