Hello. Printer is DCP-7020. I can print ONE job. Any jobs I attempt to print after that, and the printer goes into PAUSED status, even though it is actually NOT paused. It then does not come out of PAUSE until I delete the job in queue. I cannot RESUME until the jobs have been deleted, so nothing can get printed. ??? Thanks.

If the status from the printing source writes "paused" despite the green tick, there are a few possible reasons why this may be happening:
Printer software: The printer software may be set to pause the print job. Check the printer software settings to see if there are any options to pause the print job.
Print queue: The print job may be paused in the print queue. Check the print queue on your computer or device to see if the print job is paused. If it is, try resuming the print job.
Paper jam: A paper jam can cause the printer to pause the print job. Check the printer for any paper jams and clear them if necessary.
Low ink or toner: If the printer is low on ink or toner, it may pause the print job. Check the ink or toner levels and replace them if necessary.
Connectivity issues: Connectivity issues between the printer and the computer or device can also cause the print job to pause. Check the connection between the printer and the computer or device and make sure it is properly established.
If you're unsure about any of these steps or are not comfortable troubleshooting the printer on your own, it's always best to contact the printer manufacturer or a professional technician for assistance. They can help diagnose and fix the problem safely and effectively.
On the printer properties on the computer there will be a paused option (Normally marked as "Pause Printing") in the printer drop down menu on the Printer Queue screen. Click this to remove the tick next to it and it should start printing again.
I assume you are using a PC- All printers have a list of pending jobs refered to as the print "queue"- it should open if you double click on the default ptinter icon in the printer list- it sounds to me like your print Queue has been paused somehow and all the print jobs are being "held" until you tell the queue to restart printing
Please restart your computer after deleting all print jobs. after the computer turns on, please check the status of the printer in "Printers" in the control panel - it should be active and not paused. please check you use the correct driver for the printer when you print. If any of those didn't help - please uninstall the driver and install it again. it should work.
Try purging the pending print jobs then try to print again. Go to Printer and Faxes on XP, then right click on your printer icon then select purge print jobs. Or double-click on the printer icon on your system tray (lower right hand of the screen) then click on the pending print jobs then purge it. Then try to print again.
Thanks for using FIxYa. Please turn the printer off and then cancel all the print queues pending in the bottom toolbar by double clicking on the printer logo if you want to delete all the pending printing files. Now turn the printer on. If you do not want to cancel all the printing jobs then you can double click on the printer logo showing in the right side of the bottom tool bar and then right click on the printing jobs pending for printings then click on restart printing. Issue will be resolved and it will not show ‘paused status’.

The fuser has failed and needs to be replaced. If it is still under warranty Brother may cover it. If not you will have to take it to a Brother Authorized service center. It may be possible to find a used one on Ebay, even if its just for parts. Some of these smaller machines require extensive dissassembly to replace the fuser and shouldn't be attempted by a novice.
