We had this issue and removing the optional hard disk fixed it for us, I'm guessing it was on the way out and wasn't really being used so it will not be missed.

Check our USB cable. It should contain AWG marking on it. Depending on AWG number there is a limit to USB cable length as follows:
28AWG = 0.81 m
26AWG = 1.31 m
24AWG = 2.08 m
22AWG = 3.33 m
20AWG = 5.00 m
Make sure your cable does not exceed the maximum length according to its marking. Replace the cable if it exceeds the length.

Download and run Internet Download manager..click HERE
Next..start IDM ..click Tasks>Add new download
and copy/paste this link ->

Click OK ...>Start Download>Open folder>Double click on C51200GDEA.exe.
Follow the on-screen prompts to extract the driver files
Launch Add Printer Wizard
When prompted for the Manufacturer and Model click on Have Disk
Browse to the following location: "C:\OKIDATA\C5150_C5200\English\GDI".
Click OK
