  • ajoe7 May 01, 2009

    It started with Firefox 3.0.1 crashing constantly. Then my Norton wouldn't update correctly, so I went through their Help Support and they interactively uninstalled my Window's IE8, reinstalled it, and then did the same with my Norton to the latest update. Firefox still wouldn't stay open more than 30 minutes, so I uninstalled it and switched to Google Chrome. Then I started having problems with Java and Flash on websites. Now I can't connect on any program, iTunes, Safari, IE, Google Chrome or Norton Anti-Virus. My wireless connection is excellent and every other computer in the house (XP, Vista or Mac) can all connect.

    I tried this afroxav but I have Norton 360 IS and AV and it's all different but I went to Manage Firewall and clicked on Uncommon Protocols. All the entries had already been enabled so after disabling firewall until reboot I disabled all under uncommon protocols and then immediately enabled all of them. Then I closed all windows and rebooted. That re-enabled firewall protection and the Error 105 was gone. Now I gotta do the same with Firefox, Opera and IE9 (Beta). Thanks for the tips though. Hope this helps other Chrome users with Norton 360 installed. Hae a great day tomorrow. Sayonara for now- K

The Chrome error 105 is probably caused by your security program (in my case it was Norton Internet Security) might be blocking Chrome.

These are the step you have to take to fix Chrome error 105 if you are running Norton Internet Security

1. Launch Norton Internet Security
2. Personal Firewall > Configure
3. Choose the Programs Tab and scrolled down to Chrome.exe.
4. Changed it so it shows "Permit All"
5. Launch Chrome and check if the spell was able to solve error 105.

Good luck.

Eror 105 wifi

Error 105 is one of the most commonly faced errors by a lot of users everyday who are using Google chrome
Error 105 is a DNS resolution error. - Which means when you enter the URL of the website and hit enter in Google chrome, it tries to resolve the IP address of the website using a protocol called DNS (Domain Name System). If chrome is unable to reach the DNS server, the name resolution fails and you get the error 105.
Solution:
Once you have verified from your internet service provider that there is no problem on their end, follow the step by step instructions below.
We are simply going to add a manual DNS address in Windows so that chrome is able to resolve DNS queries.
1) Press [Windows Key + R] to open the "RUN Dialog"
Alternatively, you can also click on the start menu, type run in the search bar, and you will have the RUN Program.
Once you have the RUN box, type in ncpa.cpl and click OK - This would work for all Windows operating systems including Windows Xp, Vista and 7.
2) Next, Choose the correct network adapter (from the icons)
If you are connecting to the internet using an Ethernet cable, then most likely you are using a desktop computer. Right-Click "Local Area Connection" and click "Properties"
If you are connecting to the internet using a Wi-Fi Connection, then Right-Click on "Wireless Network Connection" and click properties
3) After you open the properties window, select "Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4)" and click "Properties"
4) Usually you would be having both the options set to "Automatic"
In the section below, select the "Use the following DNS Server Addresses" and enter the following values Preferred DNS Server - 8.8.4.4
Alternate DNS Server - 8.8.8.8
and click "OK", then click "CLOSE"
You must now test your new configuration by browsing a website - you can also try and browse the website you were trying to get to when you got the error 105.

Why does Error 105 (net::err_name_not_resolved): The server could not be found. This webpage is not available. Always happen when i try to open gmail or myspace?

Sites that I have accessed for ages are now not coming up sometimes its say's"the web page is temporarily down or removed' and for more information I get Err 105 etc'. These pages are not down and the address is correct, if I try it a few times it often starts to work. I also may be in a site eg: Daily telegraph or net bank and when I try another page within the site it often comes up 'temporarily unavailable' which is not true again and it usually gives me a reference number. What can I do?

Webpage display issues: "This webpage is not available" (Network errors 2, 102, 104, and 105) Issue This message displays when Google Chrome is unable to find and load the requested web page.
Solutions Check your web address and Internet connection Double-check the URL in the address bar to make sure you're going to the right web address. If you've confirmed that you're going to the right web address, check whether you can open the same web page in another browser, such as Internet Explorer or Firefox. If you can't see the web page in any browser, the web page may be temporarily down. You should also make sure you're properly connected to the Internet.
Check the error you're receiving If you can load the web page using another browser, but not Google Chrome, check the exact error you're getting by clicking the More information on this error link on the page. The rest of the solutions listed in this article are relevant if you're experiencing any of the following errors:
  • Error 2 (net::ERR_FAILED): Unknown error
  • Error 104 (net::ERR_CONNECTION_FAILED)
  • Error 105 (net::ERR_NAME_NOT_RESOLVED)
  • Error 102 (net::ERR_CONNECTION_REFUSED):
  • Unknown error
To disable the proxy run this from the command line or modify your shortcut to run chrome:

"C:\Documents and Settings\YOUR USER NAME\Local Settings\Application Data\Google\Chrome\Application\chrome.exe" --proxy-server
See here: http://tiny.cc/A2tST

Encountering this problem following your first restart after installing Privoxy (which requires changing G-Chrome's proxy settings).
If, after installing Privoxy, you elected not to have it load on system startup, manually re-loaded Privoxy. Simply reconfigure Privoxy to load on startup and the problem should be corrected.

I have same problem plz help

hi
error 105 (net err_Name _not_resolved )
is a compatibilty issue of google chrome with windows vista .
google is still working on this issue.
thier is no problem with your computer.
Google will soon try to realese a patch for this

this common error comes when the google chrome is not able to resolve the DNS with your ISP

I will explain you how and what excalty happenes when u try to look for any webpage through your browser like google chrome ,ie,firefox etc

when you try to type www.fixya.com then your browser convert these words into a particular number as computer and the server reads number.this conversion of words into a number is done by feature called DNS and since your google chrome is not able to convert it into a numbers you are getting this problem

i would once again say that this not your computer issue .this is the issue with the google chrome and soon the google will try to release a patch for it .
