SOURCE: How to replace a laptop screen cover?
The laptop screen is secured to the laptop with screws at the hinges.
There are usually two screws per hinge. The LCD screen has one ribbon cable and possibly a power connector for the back lighting attached to the motherboard near the hinges. Disconnect these before you lift the LCD off the base, they are under the plastic panel above the function keys next to the hinges.
SOURCE: some keys not working
well sometimes you have to disassemble the whole thing, but first have a carefull look(maybe use a torch to light there) if you can pop it out from the top with a thin screwdriver or better a knife.
Notebooks tend to have plastic under the keyboard, but still be carefull, cause the plastic "shelf", on the other hand tends to have holes in it(any choice of small and big).
And note that notebooks have to be disassembled carefully and it's sometimes tricky, but on the other hand they're easily put together(if you don't damage them too badly during disassembly).
But I hope this one just needs to have a keyboard popped out(ah and don't damage the interconnect, be slow on it, mainly for motherboard integrity reasons)
SOURCE: need to replace keyboard on Philips freevents x56
There is one screw holding the keyboard in from the bottom - remove this, unclip the 4 clips across the top with a bank-card etc. and you're away. Remove the ribbon, Replace, and reverse for re-assembly.
One bad lead can cause a computer to continue on a cycle or to shutdown or fail to detect your hard drive
Test all leads that attach to your hard drive including electrical extensions,IDE,SATA
the leads from your motherboard to your hard drive make sure they have a secure connection and are not faulty or just replace them there probably old and faulty
hope this helps
