Normal wash cycle is as follows..

Wash1 8 min
Rinse1 10 min
Wash2 21 min
Rinse 10 min
Rinse 12.5 min
Dry(hot or cool) 23.5 min

Total of 85 min

thats just a normal cycle. Pots and pan cycle is of course longer

We were so frustrated with the very long cycles on our new (efficient!) Kenmore dishwasher - almost 2 hours even on a Light Load. So we came up with the idea of doing a 'manual' wash. We do a Light Wash with a timer (manual) of 20 mins. and then we do a Quick Rinse of 15 minutes, and voila, the dishes come out spotless, and we have saved so much time, water and energy. Of course, we make sure the dishes don't have any stuck-on food before.

Run cycle

Sounds like the timing mechanism is messed up, call the repair place and see if they can fix it. other wise take the front panel off and see if you can adjust the dial that controls the timer.

Only can use the heavy wash cycle

HELLO THERE
The cycle doesn't advance or you are unable to use one of the cycles such as light or the normal wash cycle, your problem normally is caused by a bad timer It's the timer, if your washing machine fills with water and begins agitating, but the timer never advances--or if the washer is in a spin cycle and the timer won't advance.and if you set it to the normal cycle or light cycle and nothing happens Then you need to replace the timer. ok? hope this is veery helpful for you
Best regards Michael

Dishwasher stalls

If the cycle doesn't complete, check these:

Water-heating cycle
Timer
Water-heating cycle Many dishwashers heat the wash and/or rinse water to a higher temperature, as the cycle calls for it. In these cycles, the dishwasher pauses after it has filled with water, waiting for the water to reach the pre-set temperature. What happens next, depends, as follows:

  • On some units, the pause is timed and the unit continues after the allotted time.

  • On others, the cycle can't continue until the water reaches the higher temperature. If you have this type of dishwasher and the water isn't being heated (say, because of a problem with the heating element or thermostat), after the unit stops at the heating cycle, it never continues. When you repair the heating-system problem, the "cycle problem" is fixed too.

Timer Timers don't often fail. But if every other part of the dishwasher seems to be working properly and the timer knob seems to be stuck in one place--doing one function continuously--the timer may be at fault. Dishwasher timers can't be repaired. If yours is defective, replace it.

Dishwasher starts but never seems to come out of wash cycle

Hi,

Check to see if the unit is heating. Open the door mid cycle. If the unit doesn't heat then the unit cannot advance to the next step in the programme. it is basically waiting to reach temperature which it won't if the heating element or thermostat has blown. Hope this helps.
