I have 4 of them, and can get HDTV with the free Digital to analog TV converter, and the Universal R5 remote control come with set up codes for net tv.

Have you tried the manual option? Turn on your DVD player. Press "TV" or maybe a different button for DVD players, then a red light on your remote blinks once. Then hold both the "up" volume and "up" channel button down until your red light is permanently on. Then whilst holding your remote control 1mm away from your DVD player signal light (usually red too), hold down the "power" button until your dvd player switches off. Then switch it on again and try other buttons. However, I've only tried this on an LG TV, but took me 2 days until I really put the remote in front of that signal light. Took about 1 minute or more while holding down the "power" button. Hope it works =)
Don't know if this is of any use at this late date but . . .
This site does pretty well at supply either the original remote or a suitable substitute:
Remotes
Hi, First thing, turn off the TV and unplug it for about 2-3 minutes. Remove also the batteries on your remote. Re-install the batteries on the remote and plug in your TV. Power on your TV using the remote. No luck? Norcent may not be supported by a universal remote. If you just bought your unit new (maybe Best Buy who carries this brand) you are still covered by its warranty. Below are ways you can reach Norcent. http://www.norcent.net/main/contact.asp 909) 305-2121 [email protected]

if a TV is on sale and the advertisement says "broken" - - - the TV will probably stay that way - those sales are for repair centers who can take two or more televisions and make one "like-new" unit - it depends on the symptoms and what make (and model) are for sale - call the customer service department for each brand that you might buy and they will advise you [dxh]
