Sony BluRaywon't play back disk

From a previous post you tried to help us with:

Our company creates content, then burns our content to a Blu Ray disk to playback on Plasmas and LCDs at conventions. We can playback disks we create on Panasonic BluRays, but not Sony. What is the reason for this and how do we fix it? Otherwise, our customers can only use Panasonic players. The Sony just won't playback the BRAND of your dvds. Panasonic and even few other brands dvd players are able to playbacks these OEM dvds.Not much you could do.

That is one of the problem with manufacturers that don't clearly explain the consumers that most of the blue ray dvd player is designed to play blue ray dvds &regular dvds,but it wasn't never designed to back any DVD-R or DVD-RW.
Sorry,there is no way around it,because Sony enjoyed being exclusive in many things.

You don't say which version of windows you're using or whether the bluray disks you are testing are factory made or created by you.

Playing back any video recorded on media like CDs DVDs or Blu Ray discs requires a video decoder (a program such as PowerDVD or Win DVD). Windows alone cannot do the job.

Burning Bluray disks requires both special blu ray discs and burning software such as Nero. Windows alone cannot do the job

Your Sony Bluray RW should have come with (a) CD(s) to install the Blu ray versions of a Video Decoder and burning softwares and also possibly some Sony programs too.

Install these and then you should be able to watch and burn bluray discs to your heart's content.

Blu-ray players can play both BD and DVD disks, the region of disks must match the ones that the player accepts.

My bluray player in my acer comes up with a "cannot play right protected content" when i try and play a bluray dvd in my bluray player

if that is a copy of a blu ray movie you are trying to watch... when the copy was made the copyright protection was not removed before it was recorded.

How to play region A blu ray discs on region c Blu ray player. i have bought this player in India but would like to play BD discs got for USA, and the player does not plays such disc.

The Player will not play the Blu-ray discs other than Region C.
This is because all the Blu-ray/DVD Players are designed such way that it will play only the discs that are manufactured and sold in the same country where the Player is manufactured.

You can play the discs that are "Region ALL".

However, you may try copying the content of the Region A/B Blu-ray discs to a Computer then create a video Blu-ray disc to check whether you can play them in the BDPS370.

I own the bdp-s300 and recently upgraded to firmware 5.2 now disks that played previously are now not playing

If you have a USB stick plugged into the unit you may need to remove it, put it into a computer and format it. FAT file system is preferable.

If you don't have a USB stick plugged into the unit, some disks do require the extra storage for the downloadable content or using as a "swapfile". I would suggest getting a 2 or 4 Gigabyte USB stick and plug it into the back of the unit to allow for this. The Setup menu will allow you to ensure the unit sees the storage properly.

Had this issue with a Batman blu-ray awhile ago. This fixed it.

Sony blueray not playing blueray

i think in these modles there are 2 lasers one for normal dvd's and 1 for blueray my stepbrothe plays blu-ray on ps3 all the time and his packed up but normal dvd worked so try checking that or using a disk cleaner (a special disk) and try cleaning the blu-ray disk

try cleaning the lens as you would with you previously owen DVD player. Also make sure the disks are clean. If that doesn't work, try resetting the machine by pressing and holding BOTH the stop and power buttons for about 10-15 seconds.

Blue ray player wont play blue ray ''Kung Fu Panda'' disc.

i fixed this exactly as previous posted solutions, however a couple of points.
a) recordable CDs work if you don't have a DVD burner.
b) I didn't have a CD burner that would do an "image burn", I downloaded a free copy of "Express Burn" and that worked fine. The disk needs to be "finalised" or "fixated", it should do this automatically, or it may be a tick box selection.
c) I got a "No DWLD 09" when I put the disk into the player. I found this was an incompatibility with the CD-R (Maxwell) I was using. I changed to JVC and it worked fine.
