Hello,
I think I have the same problem as these people. I was watching mine when it happened though. Made a pop noise then went out. It will blink 9 quick green lights then one long 3sec blink. Will not show a picture or sound at all. Model is 27PT9015D/37 27" Phillips
Thank you for any help!

the tv powers on but no picture appears on the screen then the green indicator lite flashes 1,2,3 times pauses and repeats endlessly. There was no warning of an impending problem. i had watched a movie earlier that 2 hrs previous to the tv crapping out.

When I press the on button no picture but sound comes on briefly then shuts off followed by green light blinking once, then twice, then 3 times and the blinking sequence repeats over and over I have the same problem. Bought this TV the day after Thanksgiving in 2006. We don't even watch it that much. One day it just would not turn on. We get sound briefly. The screen is completely black. Then it powers off and we get the green blinking light sequence described above. There is a two year warranty on the display only. We have called Philips for a warranty repair. Repair guy is picking it up tomorrow. It will be interesting to see what, if anything, Philips is going to own up to here under their warranty. Has anyone else had luck trying to claim this problem under warranty?
Sounds like a component shorted out for sure. I will guess he will say, "It needs a new power board". I would guess a transistor or microchip burnt out. Probably ESD damage from a new factory worker.

If you have a Sony DLP, then the loud pop you heard is your lamp. The lamps last approx. 4K-6K viewing hours. Read your manual for replacement part number to reorder and very simple to replace yourself.
Your color wheel needs to be changed. Mine just did the same thing. I changed mine, and the buzzing sound went away, however now my picture washes out with light or yellow colors. The darks look green and purple also.
Sounds like the flyback went out. Your set is a CTC195 you can get a replacement flyback for it at the following link. They also provide free instalation instructions and free on line tech support. http://servicemanuals.vstore.ca/
A Projector does'nt like being switched on and off all the time , if you are going to watch a couple of movies - rather leave the machine running all the time - this will also help you to get more hours out of your lamp - and that's a promise.
As far as the noise is concerned - it is most probably just the machine that was not cooled down properly at that stage.
I had this happen to mine and I had to have the high voltage transformer replaced. I took it all apart my self to save money and it only cost me about $285
