Every time I turn it on, I have to reset all setting, It will not save setting after it is turned off. I.E clock, and date: some times wireless settings depending on how long it was off. Cmos batterie?

Hi,

YES. The CMOS battery (complementary metal-oxide semiconductor) is low off charge or dead and needs to be replaced.

The CMOS typically is a battery-powered memory chip in your device that saves information needed at start up (before any software or program will run). If the battery is low of charge or is dead, you will eventually lose your personal settings and even some factory settings. The CMOS battery can be discharged if you have not used your device for long time.

Hope this helps.

Cmos reset

I have not specifically worked on this make/model of computer.

Technically, you cannot reset this ... I think what you are asking is how can your modify the settings. Typically one would press F2 or F8 or F11 to enter the setup during the boot process. It may be a different F key, it should flash on the screen when you boot.

You could disconnect the battery back up if you can locate it. ..This will remove any custom setting, but will not let you get back in to change it unless you find the correct F key to press.

On the other hand ... there are no more than 12 F keys. You should be able to find the proper one.

If this doesn't work, you should go to www.fujitsy.com/support for assistance.

Where is the location of CMOS battery on motherboard? I have a 5.5 yr old tablet that's having symptoms of a bad battery. I'd like to change it myself and get an idea of how much it costs to purchase.

You'll have to open up the laptop and get free access to the motherboard. Usually CMOS batteries on laptops are soldered onto the motherboard so you'll need to have some soldering skills to do this.
About the price, usually it's in the $10 range, but the best way to go is to get the original battery and visit the local wrist watch store or a specialized batteries store and ask for a replacement.

If this was helpful and informative please vote with a Thumb Up. Thank you.

Ok I taught I had fought this battle and won but still no video even after replacing CMOS battery and the additonal small battery pack. I carefully made sure everything was correctly plugged in exactly as...

Hello,

who told you that the fault was from the Cmos battery? This is a display issue and not cmos battery. Who ever told you it was a cmos battery problem was wrong. The function of the cmos battery does not concern video problem.

Since the fault has to do with video, you will have to check the screen and screen inverter.

Also, does you tablet PC has a space for any external display like motherboard? You can connect it to an external display to see if there will be a display. ( This is optional, if it does not have external display connector, then you cannot do this).

So review the inverter because there is every possibility that the fault is from there.

I hope this makes sense to you.

Good luck.

How to change cmos battery?

the COMS battery is part of the motherboard, in most PCs they are inserted in a removable slot, the battery is a watch cell the size of a Dime and can be replaced (the battery serial/model # may be CR2032)
In some they are fixed in the motherboard, it's hard to remove it in this case.
u need to open the PC box to look for the battery, it can be easily detected if you can view ur complete motherboard.

How do i change the cmos battery in a travelmate c110. The time and date and bios settings keep changing. Figure it needs a cmos battery. thanks

The cmos battery is exactly located beneath in between the touchpad and speaker, it's a meticulous job, you could see a twin cable leading through the keyboard area. After removing the keyboard, cut the battery wires at the edge of the old battery and replace the new sealed pack by soldering its wires to the same connection. Be cautioned not to break off the slim edges of the keyboard sides by attempting to reach the battery while lifting up top silver panel from the front near the Infrared.
