I bought this monitor about a year ago and has been working fine till last week. One day, my monitor just go blank. I thought it was nothing so I turn off my computer. But the next time I used it, it goes blank again after about 40 minutes. Rebooting my CPU won't help as monitor goes blank soon right after logging into Windows (I'm using XP Pro).
I thought it was driver malfunction(Vga card nVidia 6600), so I re-installed with the lastest driver, but to no avail.
The only solution I have at the moment is to turn the monitor off for quite some time before using for another 40 minutes. By the way, rebooting my monitor allows me 1 second before it goes blank again.
Another thing, after I turn off my CPU but left the monitor running, it shows;
Hi Randygui, Sounds like the back light inverter board is bad. It's a very common problem. LCD's use four small cold compact fluorescent bulbs to back light the display. (thats what gives the LCD it's brightness allowing you to see it) The inverter board runs these lights and when they go bad they will typically show symptoms like you have or the monitor power light comes on and you have either no display or a very dim display. If you ever have one that has no display but the power light is on you can check by shining a flashlight directly into the LCD from the front (right into the screen) if you can see an image then it's either the inverter board (most likely) or the CCFL bulbs have gone bad. The inverter board and CCFL's are replaceable. Good Luck, El Duderino
Click on Start --> Settings --> Control Panel
Select the Power Options
In that choose the power schemes and in the down you will have the four combo box.
For each options in the power schemes choose the "Never" options in the four combo boxes.

My dell laptop is not working on batteries.. can u suggest a suitable power option to get the backup
Any links to a source for a replacement board? I'm having a devil of a time finding one.
Actually we were thinking of repairing the board I have... we have the board out and have identified the likely transistors (C5707) and have micro-soldering capability. But wondering about possible fuses that we can't ID... (not the power supply fuse)... are there fuses for each of the lamp transformers? Any source for schematics?

I have an nvidia 6600 gt also, and I have exactly the same problem. Sometimes it simply changes resolution to an inexistant one and if I'm lucky I can see enough to revert it. But really, usually it just goes black and I can't do anything...sucks.
