After powering on our unit flashes about 9 different solid colors

None of the buttons or remote will respond, nor will the picture show up when the cable is plugged in. We checked all the power and cable cords - they work fine. Also, we took it to a repair shop who wanted almost $300 for the internal-motherboard-somethin-or-other and another $100+ for labor.

Then I figured I would just get rid of it on craigslist, which I posted for $75. I am getting full offer responses and higher bids! Is there something that I am missing here? It is a broken tv! If it's a simple problem I can fix, I would like to. Any thoughts??

Regarding the N3250w in question?? It sure pays to recycle!! I just found this monitor yesterday at the local recycle yard. Someone tossed it away as it seems it was flashing funny colors?? Until today that is!! Thanx for the simple cure!!! What a score!!!! - JLC - www.webstarts.com/IamInventing.com

Screen changes colors only

Hold the Vol+ Vol- buttons down and turn on the power switch in the back of the unit.
The screen should turn blue and some square in the middle of it.
The noisy square is actually the bios being reset.
Once the unit turns itself off, you can turn it back as usual.
Note: Some of these units require a 3 button reset.
In that case hold Vol+ Vol- and Menu at the same time while you turn the power switch on in the back of the set.
I hope it was helpful.

Lost cd player code

You can find the remote control codes for different brands of devices from
http://www.hifi-remote.com/ofa/codes-tv.shtml#tv

If none of the codes work then we have two other solutions:

1. Searching For Your Code

If you have tried all of the set-up codes for your brand of equipment ,or your brand is not listed, and you are still not able to get the unit to respond, try the following procedure to search for your code.
If you don't find a code that works, the remote will flash four times when you reach the end of all the codes for this device type.
  1. PRESS the button for the device you want to program, (TV, VCR, CABLE, etc.), then RELEASE.
  2. PRESS and HOLD the SETUP button until the red LED flashes twice, then RELEASE.
  3. ENTER 9-9-1 (two blinks on the remote)
  4. ALTERNATE slowly between the POWER key and the DEVICE (TV, VCR, CABLE, etc.) button until your device turns off. (On VCR, LD, and CD players use PLAY instead of POWER)
Make sure that the remote is pointed at your device during the search, You may have to press this sequences of buttons up to 100 times to search the entire library of codes.
  5. When your device turns OFF, PRESS the SETUP button and RELEASE it to lock in the code for your device.

hope this may help;

Unresponsive buttons

First, try unplugging the unit for a couple of hours. That should reset the internal microprocessor. If that fails, try pushing all of the buttons one at a time. If one of them is stuck, nothing will work properly. You should be able to feel the button working. Report back here with your results.
