I have two SONY IT-B3 phones which worked perfectly until now...if I am on another phone and my husband picks up either of the IT-B3 phones, he can barely hear us. These phones worked fine until we moved to another home...but one of the phones is on a splitter and the other phone on the splitter works fine, so it isn't the jack. Any ideas?
This sounds like a polarity issue in the new home.
I think you hace red and greed reversed somewhere in the telephone wiring. All greens should go together as all reds. If it is newer wiring the colors will be different, but the same rules apply. example: blue/white and white/blue striped wires will be one pair, it is easy to get then reversed if you are not careful.
Another possibility is there could be two incoming phone lines that are crossed with the red (or blue white) paired with the green (or white blue) from another incoming line.
The 2nd line should be on the black/green (orange/white pair)
I dumped the phones, and bought a couple of new inexpensive AT&T phones! Some fix, huh?
