Kenmore washer stops spinning a few seconds in to the cycle.

The Kenmore washer goes through its normal wash cycle however, when it reaches the rinse cycle it fills with water and agitates. When it reaches the spin cycle it starts into the spin cycle and then it stop a few second into it. I also notice water at the bottom of the washer. When I drain the water from the tub it completes the spin cycle.

Sounds like the brushes are struggling to get enough power to the motor to spin. Renew motor brushes

gabehart....sounds like belt is slipping. Replace it. The water pump is on a separate smaller motor so is not affected by the agitator/spin motor.

SOURCE: Kenmore front-load washer stops at rinse cycle

When the washer initially fills for the wash, is it only hot water entering the drum? Try switching the water temperature between hot and cold as it fills. If any of them show little or no water getting through, it sounds too easy but check to make sure water supply taps are on, and that the cold/hot fill hoses aren't reversed. Remove the fill hoses and check any of the screen filters for blockage (in the hoses and in the inlet water valve). When the machine stops and waits to fill but all you hear is a hum, it sounds like there is power going to the valve but water is not able to get through it.
Good luck!

A kenmore elite washer won't spin on rinse cycles. Does fine on first wash cycle, fills up for first rinse and then won't spin after that either on first or second rinse.

There are two plastic gears on each end of the motor inside the washer. One of them broke. These gears make the tub spin. They are inexpensive. it is rare that both gears broke but have both of them replaced. Then you don't have to worry about the second gear breaking in a few months.

The lid switch is bad . You can either replace it , or bypass it under the control panel . Try putting a pencil down into the hole on the top where the lid actuator goes into to see if it drains and spins .

Kenmore washer quit working

it may be waiting for a faulty heater to kick in. try it on a cold water wash, no heat and see if it continues the full wash. if it does not then it may have a faulty timer.

Frigidaire top load washer won't rinse

this can be two issues. One could be the control knob. there could be a malfunction here. secondly, you may have a faulty water valve assembly. the relay or solenoid may need to be replaced. i would start with the control knob.
