Non stop trouble beeping every 30 on my simon 3 security system

Dear tech gods,
Here is my prayer to you, in detail status button first told me battery on one sensor off. after stuffing it w/ pillows for too long. I finally got batteries, when I got to it, the alarm goes off when I insert the batteries. the system status now says sensor failure...as well as phone communication failure....I know, call the company. I did. they want me to renue a contract and pay a tech $250 to fix it .. I don't care if it isn't linked in phone, but I would like the beeping to stop and alarm to work in house.
in my dreams?? amen, Joyce
ps. it has been unplugged and the beeping hasn't stopped.

I have a similar problem I do not want the system to connect to outside alarm monitoring, I want to just have the stupid alarm sound in the house when doors/window are opened. I have disconnected from phone line and am in process of cancelling monitoring but every morning at about 2;00 am the alarm beeps telling me I have no phone communications...which I already know!!! I have been told to just unplug it, thanks but no thanks...I want to use it for door alarms still, can this be done?

    Help.

Two separate problems: Sensor failure and phone communication failure. Most likely, you've not been hooked up to a phone for a while but the system didn't know until it tried to transmit to the monitoring center that you removed a cover on a sensor.

I can tell you how to turn off the panel beeps, "beeps" not only includes the trouble beeps that are driving you crazy, but also the beeps letting you know it's counting down, either when you've just armed it or when you come home right before the alarm sounds.

Open the cover and enter your code using the red numbered buttons inside there. It doesn't beep when you press buttons, so press them well. When you've done it right, it will tell you to choose from the Start Menu. Choose "DELETE". Then, from the Main Menu, choose "OPTION #". Then press DONE. You have now turned off beeps. You haven't fixed anything and that sensor still isn't working but it's not beeping to get your attention now. Press SYSTEM STATUS two times to hear it tell you what's going on.

To turn beeps on again, open cover, enter code and choose ADD > OPTION # > DONE.

YOu might want to check the voltage rating on the battery. Radio Shack can meter the battery for you to let you know if the battery you purchased is actually up to specs. It's rare, but some batteries are not fresh and it's possible you have tried a non fresh battery as the replacement. THe sensor generally has a safety feature that puts it into a beeping mode once the supply battery drops below a specific voltage. It doesn't take much of a drop and that's really a good thing.

How do I silence the beeping every 4 hours for a low battery on my ge simon xt?

Everyone: If you are not going to answer the question DON’T POST. The question is not how to install a new battery. The question is not how to reset the system. original poster knows the battery is low. They know that pressing status tells them the problem. They know pressing disarm stops the beeping alarm for only 4 hours. The problem is it takes DAYS to get a replacement battery because only found through mail order. The unit runs on AC. So how do we get it to stop being annoying short of killing the AC, and pulling the battery -which is not logical to have to disarm for days just to get the darn thing to stop being annoying.

How to keep protecting my house, using the available AC power, without annoying alarm beeping during the night and starting its every minute beeping every four hours all day. Totally bad design if no way to shut up a known battery problem.

GE/ADT DIY system will not accept master code./beeps twice/2 hour

Press the system status button on the top right and the system should announce the error message that is keeping it from accepting the code.

It beeps about six times every four hours, why?

Hi, press the "status" button for details on your problem. If it does not tell you press twice. do not remove this system till you talk to alarm company, if you have one, to place system on test. So police dont show up. Also you want to know if you are still under contract with them.

Get six beeps

You are getting a trouble beep, you can disable them for 4 hours by pressing the status button but you need to perform a sensor test. Open the panel and hit the test button, it will begin calling out sensors, open the doors and it should let you know that they are open. You probably need a battery in a sensor.

Beeping at random times through the day

You are getting trouble beeps, every time you press status you delay the alarms for 4 hours then they begin again and beep every minute. You need to run a sensor test to find out which sensor has a problem. Open the panel, enter your code and press the test button, it will begin scrolling through the sensors. Activate each sensor until it stops, if one doesnt work it will keep asking you to activaate it. You probably have a dead battery in a sensor.

System Low Battery Alarm

You can silence trouble beeps by arming and disarming the system or by pressing status button; however, trouble beeps resume after 4 hours if the trouble condition as not been fixed. You can turn the trouble beeps off in the programming option 40. This should be done by your security professional because any mistake you could change other parameters in the system and the system may not work correctly. Hope this helps
