Blue vertical bar on right side

Here's an annoying one: when put into 'full' picture mode, a thin, slighty arced bluish vertical line appears on the right side of the screen, right against the edge of the picture. Since there is a slight bow to it, the right side of the picture does not appear flush against the right side of the screen, so you can just barely make a bit of black sandwiched in there; the far right side of the screen is a little bit blurry, too. I just performed an adjustment with the blue/green/red dials behind my front assembly to correct thin blue lines arcing horizontally across the screen, but that didn't have any effect on this vertical one; neither did the b/g/r focus knobs. Any hints? Thanks, - Jeff M

Blue vertical line at reght side of screen

This is normal. Depending on what you have connected to it the lines could be white, black and white specs, or green. Just mode will show the entire picture event the parts that aren't supposed to be seen. I would not recommend that setting. Full is the best mode if you want to see the entire picture in the correct ratio.

Thin blue line

I am a Sharp Servicing Technician. You posted this before. Ive got the same model TV as you do LC46D62U. I think the line you are experiencing is simply the broadcast. I notice it on some HD shows that broadcast the side bars. (Always on the Ellen Degeneres Show). Ive taken some picture.

1) Here's the line on the left that i experience

2) Later on in the broadcast, it goes away.

One way to check if its a TV problem or not. When the line shows up again, hit the MENU button on the remote. If the line appears to be "behind" the menu, then it is simply the broadcast.

If the line appears to be "on top" of the menu or shows right through the menu, then it is a TV problem.

Im thinking the reason it takes hours for hte line to appear is because it only shows up on certain shows or certain HD broadcasts.

Thin green line

Most likely your tv has a defective LCD panel. If it's in warranty, drop it to the warranty depot shop to repair.

Vertical, pencil-thin blue line appears after 10 minutes of viewing (any source)

I would suspect a connection breaking down as the set heats up. A shop will probably have to put the set in a stand to hold it while they check for loose connections or defective components inside. Not a DIY job by any means. If this line went completely through the picture either vertically or horizontally and stayed there then this would have indicated a failure in the Panel itself. A thin Line any where on the screen consisting of one pixel in width is a Panel Failure according to Hitachi.
