Audiovox D1020 DVD player won't read DVD anymore

Hi there. I have an Audiovox model D1020 Portable DVD player and when you put a disc in it, it just sticks saying loading and doesn't seem to play the dvd or read the dvd. Any idea what is wrong. It doesn't sound like the disc is spinning. Thanks.

When I insert the DVD, the DVD will spin very fast and never load.

I have the same problem! The only way to fix this is to replace the motor that spins the DVD. if you take it apart and spin the DVD the movie will play. The motor is just wore out and has no torque to start the play process. I am still looking for a replacement motor for it and haven't found anyone that carries the motor required. Only Audiovox so far and they want 180 to send in and fix.

If either of you are willing to sell me the units themselves, I am willing to buy one. I have a screen issue with mine, so it might work out. Please email me at [email protected]
Thanks

I have a 7" Audiovox portable dvd player that keep saying loading then after it say no madia....

It may be that the disc you are trying to play is so dirty that it cannot be read. The other problem may be that the laser head is dirty especially with a portable device. Either way the machine cannot read the disc and gives up trying after some time. Careful cleaning shoudl resolve your issue.

Audiovox D1210 DVD won't load to play. When we put in a DVD to play a movie, the screen displays "loading" for a while and then reads "no disc". Using a can of air (and sometimes jolting the player itself)...

Your DVD players may have slip out of calibration. You can try setting them back to factory specifications. To do this go to the set up menu main page. Highlight preferences and press enter.Next highlight defaults and press enter. This will reset the DVD player to the factory settings. This procedure is explained in the owners manual on page 26. If this does not solve your problem, you can try using a cleaning disc to clean the laser head and transport. This should restore the laser, and transport so that you can use it. If you are still experiencing problems with the DVD player, you can call Audiovox customer support at this telephone number. 1-800-645-4994. Give them the model number of you DVD player and tell them about the problem you are having with the DVD player. I hope this information helps you with your problem.

Stripes on the right side of my Audiovox D1020

Hi..

If the player does this on any DVD then, I'm sorry to say, the screen is broken and it's cheaper to buy a new one.

Horrible Static on both headphones and van speakers when playing

Hi...

The most probable cause it broken solder connections on the headphone/ext speaker jacks.
If you know someone who can solder fine detail parts...have them try.
I dont know what a TV shop would charge but it DOES need fixing

I have an AudioVox D1020 portable DVD player. Recently it has stopped ejecting DVDs, but will still play the DVD in the drive. There is a loud whirring sound when the eject button is pushed

The PCB board for the CD controls has slid out of its bracket slightly into the pathway of the CD.

Open the DVD player, there are 3 screws on back corners and one on the bottom. Use a penny in the slots where the speakers go and gently separate the back from the front, but only very slightly. Be cautious now, because there are several wiring bundles between the front and the back. Reach into the gap, at the top where the CD control buttons are, find the PCB for the CD controls and gently push it back into place. Put the front and back together, power up and see if you've cleared the pathway.

Problem with white screen

Similar experience with a D1020. A very small component on a surface mount PCB developed a cold solder joint and eventually came off altogether. If you have a small low power soldering iron and experience with very intricate soldering, you can attempt a repair. Do not imagine that a repair shop can repair for a reasonable expense.

Look for dust, dirt or foreign object on the laser lens under where you put the disc in. Maybe blow some clean air on it.
