Problem with Hitachi P42H401 42 in. HDTV Plasma... I have a 42 inch Hitachi plasma tv that is making a very loud static noice coming from the internal speakers. It stays at a contstant very loud volume unless I completly mute the tv or turn the volume completley down to 0. Picture is fine. Removed all components (dvd player, cable box ect) even just TV over the air. I have tried unplugging the TV for 30 minutes and it still happens.
Based on what you have tried if a buzz or loud static via the speakers you have something wrong in the audio output circuit of the set--problem here is that circuit may be part of the Main board that processes all signal---a look inside---following the speaker leads back would lead you to that board.
A simple thing to do to narrow it a little (you may have done this) is with sound all the way off put your ear to the internal speaker--hear anything at all like a deep hum?
Depending on age of set and cost of the board likely bad it may or may not be a do it yourself repair.

there is no cable slot. the monitor is not a receiver. it has no tuner in it. it will need a signal from a tuner box. and that must be fed to the tv with an hdmi cable or a dvid cable for hd to work. see your manual for further information on cables. see your cable supplier for information on hd boxes available in your area. if you do not buy hd service, you will not get an hd signal. so you will see little difference from a non hd device. your dvd player may have hd capabilities, but will also need the same cable to deliver true hd signal.
the good news is that its fixable by using the right equipment.
good luck

Sounds like a bad component on the video board. These days, TV techs just swap out boards for whole new ones.

sounds like your y and z drive boards over heated and need replacing...
SOURCE: My Hitachi comes on but no cable picture unless I
now do you have a cable box if you do disgard
if not tray to rescan for chanels and after the tvv is done scaning
hit menu
then
setup
then
rest software
then
no for resting the tv to the manufacter setting after going off
and that would take care of the problem
