what operating system are you running? I ask because a yellow light on a hard drive can mean a drive completely failed or a drive that is part of an array that may just need to be rebuilt. rebuilding a array is fairly easy on a Windows operating system. you may also be able to boot into the array controller BIOS and rebuild the array there or see if the drive has failed. If the drive is hot swappable remove and reinsert the drive, I would do that part with the power off. Even though drives are "hot swap" I have seen bad results from pulling a drive with the power on.what operating system are you running? I ask because a yellow light on a

This means that HDD is faulty . You can confirm it by re fixing the hard drive . Shutdown computer > Remove HDD > wait 1 min and Insert it > Start computer . If you get any of the below status Steady Amber (Orange Led) = Drive is Faulty Amber Blinking = Hdd rebuilding
If orange led blinks , it means hdd is in rebuilding state. Wait for sometime and check if it come online . On the other hand (Steady Amber) its time to replace HDD
One thing you can do is try to re-seat the Hard Drive (HDD), there is one blue screw on the side of the ps3 under the hard drive cover,(with the power off) simply remove the screw, remove the hard drive (hdd) and re seat the hdd, if the problem perists contact sony it may be a warranty/recall type issue and they may be able to fix it for you.
