MONITOR IS A GATEWAY EV910 IN GOOD WORKING ORDER. AS STATED, WHEN I PLAY A VIDEO FROM ANY SOURCE,MEDIA PAYER,VLC,MPC HOME CINEMA.THE SCREEN SHOWS APPROX 5000 RECTANGLES ALL FLASHING, THEN I CAN'T OPERATE MOUSE, CONTROL,ALT DELETE NOTHING, I HAVE TO UNPLUG IT,AND REBOOT IS THERE A UPDATE FOR THIS GRAPHICS CARD. THANK YOU
The mail problem with those dells is the video card was not very good. you can go to dell and put in the tag number and download the drivers for it and that might help. the old dell was a xp machine and it might be the only drivers you can get for that. if you have upgraded to windows 7 there are not drivers for that in w7

Hi, Yosemic
Happy Holidays,
Sometimes is difficult to accept the reality of technology, but is happend, there is no 512 RAM video for this particular PC, but you can found for 256 ram, yet from Nvidia or Radeon taste.
PCI-E is eating the market.
(time to change your MOBO)

Hi
The supported Memory types for Dimension 2400 Series is PC2100 (266-MHz) or PC2700 (333-MHz) DDR SDRAM (non-ECC). Supported Memory capacities are 128, 256, or 512MB and a Max if 1GB (1024MB).
The first obvious question is does the new 512MB Memory module meet the above specification? Some Memory modules are able to steep down speed.
If it does, then first ensure the new memory module is properly installed. Take ESD (ElectroStatic Discharge) precautions or you may damage the new memory module and/or the system board.
To proceed compare the system beeps and diagnostics lights color and sequence to the Advanced Troubleshooting guide.
It is possible that the new memory is DOA (Dead On Arrival). Or there is a new fault on the system. If you have access to another compatible system, you may test the new and old memory modules. You may also swap the new and old memory modules to determine if the memory slot is at fault.
Lastly, if you remove the new memory module, does the system complete POST (Power On Self Test)?. If it does you may indeed have a DOA or incompatible part.

SOURCE: Dell C521 Where to connect monitor?
This means that you have an external video card (which is not outside the computer). This video card will be plugged into the motherboard. That message is saying that the port on the back of the computer that your monitor is plugged into is the wrong one. You need to look for another port on the back of the computer.
Here is a picture of a VGA port that you should use if you have a VGA cable to connect the monitor (Blue Ends).

Here is a picture of a DVI port that you should use if you have a DVI cable to connect the monitor (White Ends).

So depending on the cable and connections that are available on your computer and your monitor depends on what you have to use. I hope that wasn't too confusing. Let me know if you need more info.
