Phillips Plasma - Model #42PF7320A/37 - 3 flashing red lights

I have a Phillips Plasma (Model #42PF7320A/37) - when I plug the TV into the wall I get a clicking sounds like it is turning on, the green power light even turns on. Almost immediately following that clicking sound I hear a 2nd clicking sound like the TV is turning off. Then where the green power light was I see a red light blinking. It blinks 3 times over and over again. I have called a TV repair service but they want mondo $$$ to just come out and look at the problem and frankly I don't really trust these people to be honest. Has anyone had this issue and can they tell me what the problem was and how much it cost to fix. The TV is only 3 years old this shouldn't be happening.

Thank you for your answer that is very helpful, I think I am going to try and fix the TV myself, first order of business is finding the SSB part, can you tell me the website you were referring to, the one that sells refurbished parts. I found a website but they didn't have any SSB boards.

Second, have you tried fixing these or have any experience doing this, will this be hard? I have the service manual and it seems like its disconnected a few wires from the Board, removing the Board and reataching the wires.

Tv turns off and I get a red flashing light on philips flat tv model 42PF7320A/37

After looking through the user manual I could not find any error codes to diagnose your problem. I suggest calling Phillips Customer Support at 1-888-PHILLIPS.

I just bought a philips 42" flatscreen TV model #42ef73208-37 and it won't turn on. I have a red blinking indicator light but the TV won't turn on, what can be the issue?

  • Your TV has a protective mode in case there is too much heat build-up.
  • Check the clearance around the vents of the device to be certain there are no blocking walls or cabinetswhich would limit the air flow.
  • • Check that the TV’s AC power cord is plugged into the mains socket.
    • Unplug the television, wait for 60 seconds.
Then re-insert plug into the mains socket and turn on the television again.
If that fails take it back.. Good luck

No power to my Phillips 42 inch Plasma 42pf7321d/37, just a red blinking light

Most likely it going to be a power supply related problem. The red blinking light is a code for a TV tech to diagnose the problem on the power supply board itself or the board that regulates the power for the screen. Some manufactures call it a Backlight Inverter Board. A TV repair shop should be able to look at it for you and tell you which board is bad.
Replacement boards can be found at a good price at Shopjimmy.com

My Philips flat HDTV 42PF7320A has no picture only a red light

Classic power supply problem. Depending on the model of your TV a replacement can be found or you can trouble shoot the board to find specific problem. I have repaired boards for as little as $4 or replaced boards with working units.

Philips 42PF7320A blinks 3 times every time i hit the power button

The SSB is small self contained board that u connect your Antenna, and HDMI to. An error three is a communication error between the SSB and to Logic board ( located underneath the SSB on the back fo the plasma panel that is just below the power supply. U can check parts.com and see if u want to purchase a SSB for this TV. Is the 3blinking lights coming from the front of the TV. Also check the power supply and see how many times the green led blinks on the upper left of the power supply and let me know.
