Sony kdl-52s4100 does off by itself and green light stays on

I have a Sony LCD TV kdl-52s4100 that I need help with, tv goes off by itself , the power light would stay on solid green, and there no video or audio. i replaced power board, and it still has the same problem. checked the lights on the lcd and think they are fine. This is the weird part: If you unplug one of the connectors on the board, tv lights will go on right away... after unpluging all the connectors from power supply and main board and let tv rest for 5 min it will come back on ,,, for 5 min or sometimes for few hours .?? plz help

SOURCE: Tv cuts off and green light flashes

If your set was manufactured around July 2005, you may need a firmware upgrade to solve this issue. On the Sony website you can enter your model # and serial # to see if you TV is affected. If so, it is easy to have done and may be free from Sony. It sounds like the issue they described in the writeup on the required formware update. I had mine done within few months of when i bought it (purchased in Dec 2005) and it has been working flawlessly since.

Good luck!

Most likely this is caused by a defective main board. Changing the main board will fix the issue about 95% of the time.

To be absolutely sure, the voltages need to be checked on the power supply. If they are not the values listed in the service manual, then you should replace the power supply instead (accounts for the other 5% of the time).
