Unplug set, HDMI, and a box if used for a while--connect the HDMI first and then power to set and or box--see if set will reboot or box.

HDMI does not like power loss, being connected or disconnected with power on etc.

Also in set menu make sure HDMI input is "available".

SOURCE: On my LG20LS7D using hdmi cable I get a blank

You get 'INVALID FORMAT' because the video signal source resolution is too high for the TV to display, you need to lower your video source resolution.

SOURCE: Olevia 232 T12 when you go from standby to on, blank screen

Sounds like power board or main board. check with olevia support and give them your model number and explain your problem. a lot of these parts have lifetime warranties and the service call is free. hope this helps.

SOURCE: Invalid format

Try rechecking all wire connections for proper placement and fit too and from the tv.
Try adjusting the video format on the DVD, flip through 480p and 1080i. See which format works best with your tv. Do the same with Wii.

See if this helps.

SOURCE: I plugged my ps3 in my olevia tv and it comes up

Nothing is wrong with it. It's only compatible with 24 Hz, 25Hz interlaced, 30Hz interlaced, and 50Hz.

Cannot access TV. Screen shows HDMI 1. Invalid format.

Is it possible that whatever you have plugged into HDMI 1 requires a firmware update ? for example a dvd player etc

Or perhaps the tv cannot handle the resolution if this is the case you will want to set it at what the computer manual states what it can handle with HDMI

If not perhaps Unplug the tv for a few minutes, and then let it boot back up and trying your hdmi inputs again. This should reset the microprocessor.

Best of luck :)

Get sound and "invalid format" message displayed instead of picture

Could have still been hit by a surge. Take the back off of the TV and look at the main board were you connect your HDMI. See if it is scorched or components that blackened. Also check your DVD player on another set. Your DVD player could be the problem.

No picture or sound when I plugged in HDMI cables to back of PDP-R04E media receiver

Hi there
I do not know what SKY is,but if it is a kind of a transformer that is connected to the router. I have that because of the ADSL.
I discovered that this transformer has to be "new" in order to plug the HDMI cable in the transformer and the HDMI socket. I hope my English is understandable because this HDMI and scarts are a bitcomplecated to explain but simple inpractice.

i think you may want to try to replace the HDMI port it might be that the HDMI that you have is frayed or an internal wire is ripped

Invalid format error with P1600 blu-ray and LG LCD TV 42"

It may be a firmware issue if hdmi works with other items such as playstation.
If no hdmi the main Pcb hdmi ports are bad and the main Pcb would have to be replaced.

Consumers cannot upgrade the firmware so a shop would be the only option.

Hdmi is connected, but invalid format is displayed on the TV

Check HDMI cable over version 1.3. If the HDMI cables you use don’t support HDMI version 1.3, it can cause flickers or no
screen display. In this case use the latest cables that support HDMI version 1.3.

Zenith Z42P3 "Invalid Format" message from upconverter DVD

Ran into the same problem with this DVD player and my LG tv. Try this:
Open the DVD tray, with the DVD tray open press the HDMI select button until the proper resolution for your tv is illuminated, put the DVD back in, close the tray and try again. Simple fix -- worked beautifully for me.

Good luck
