Can't turn on

My camera wasn't used for a month or two with teh battery inside. When I tried to turn it on, it won't at times. At times I'm lucky and was able to use it. I just bought it a year ago, dec 2010.

I have similar issue. The batteries were left in the camera for more than a month. After battery recharge it worked for few snaps and stopped working while taking a snap. After that I tried charging battery but it seems to not work anymore. I suspect battery is dead. I have ordered new batteries, lets see if that makes it work.

Camera won't charge

sometimes the charger can become loose in either the camera or the plug so try buying a new plug and if it still doesn't work then it is a problem with the camera and you will have to ask the people you bought it from

My nikon coolpix 5700 will not turn on, i have bought new battery for it and it just won't turn on. what do i do?

Pleaseremove the Battery from the camera and give a look inside the batterycompartment. Use a spot light & make sure that place are clean , not rusted& the battery connector pin are not bend or broken. After that insert thefully charged battery and try to turn on. If its not turn on then its confirmthe camera internal power supply unit is faulty. For few reason this problemstarted.1. Theconnectivity cable from camera to Circuit board damaged or disconnected.OR2. Thepower supply transformer stop working & need to replacement.OR3. turnon button connection may disconnected.

After visual checking by the technician is possible to say which part isfaulty.
For the confirmation you need to visit a camera repair store. With outvisual survey technician can't confirm you which one of them is faulty. Thankyou.

I have a brand new Nikon D3100. The battery was fully charged and placed in the camera. I took about 4 photos, and then turned the camera off. When I turned it back on the battery wasn't working to...

The solution to your problem is simple, Kathrynbax.

The battery never comes in fully charged. It's always charged only so you may be able to check if your camera is working. I suggest, you take out your battery and put it to charge for exactly 90 minutes as the manual says. Then I'm sure you won't face any such problems.

Hope this solves your problem.

My camera wil not power on.

Depending on the situation, it could be several issues.
- Battery may not be charged, or wasn't charged properly. - Battery is cold. - Camera may actually still be on, but it won't show on the monitor because you may have them turned off.

Try this: Press DISP until shooting data or photo information displays, it should show up at some point. If it doesn't then it has to be the battery.
If you don't think it is, try and provide extra information on when was the last time you used it or the last time you charged the battery and etc. Thanks!

Hi,
That sounds like an issue with the memory card. Yes you will lose all current photos on it when you format the memory card. It's also safe to leave the battery in the camera as DSLRs don't drain power when the camera isn't in use.
