You will need the original remote (not a universal) and also help from LG by model number for the pin reset----some sets have 9999 for a way to get in but still will need the correct remote. Never purchase a used set without the original remote is my motto.

I'm really guessing here - -but while you're in the parental controls screen I believe you can use 0-0-0-0 as a backdoor key. It's different for every manufacturer, Philips uses 0-7-1-1 example. But the users's manual for that TV says that the "default" is 0-0-0-0.. Don't really understand their use of that terminology so it's merely a guess... remote control simulaneously for a few seconds
until the LOCK menu appears on the screen and
then the password should be cleared.

0178 will work but you have to keep the set-up button pressed down for more than a few seconds after you press TV on your cox remote. (You will see the tv button light up 2 or 3 times after pressing it and holding the set-up button down)

[1] Press the MENU button to open the main
On Screen Display (OSD) menu.
[2] Press the [
three times until the Parental Control
menu opens.
[3] Press the [Down] button on the remote control
to highlight Parental Lock Enable. The
"Key-In Access Code" window opens.
[4] Use the number pad to type the default
password (0000) or whatever password
you have changed it to previously, then
press OK.
[5] Press the [Down] button on the remote control
to highlight Access Code Edit.
[6] Press the [=>] button on the remote control
to enter the submenu. You will need to
use the number pad to type default (or
what you changed to previously) password
first
[7] Use the number pad to type the new
password.
[8] Confirm the new password by retyping it.
[9] Press EXIT button on the remote control immediately to exit the OSD menu
