Hi
There is a pin in the back by the hitch - make sure it is pushed in. If it is pushed in then check to see if there are any oil leaks under it.

SOURCE: Craftsman lawn tractor mower,

The belt is probably slipping because it is not tight enough. look by the belt, inside there is a little spring, you may half to tighten it.

SOURCE: Craftsman 26hp Garden Tractor PTO not working

If you changed the belt make sure it did not interfere with the wire that runs from the pto clutch, sometimes that belt can rub on the wire and wear through it,also if you had the clutch off make sure you aligned the steel retainer bolt that sets in the alignment hole on the pto clutch, this keeps the clutch from spring when disengaged if you don't get that pin through the hole in clutch it can push on the clutch and bind it.Also it may be possible to plug that pto switch in backwards. Also if you jumped the fuse out it may now have burnt the switch or wiring somewhere.

It means change the oil. It will come on every 50 hours regardless when the oil was last changed, then go off after a few hours.

Craftsman garden tractor having trouble making it up hills.

When the engine feels a little bit of torque requirement or additional power at any time, it will look for additional fuel.
check your fuel filters.
Some models of mowers have a silt screen in the tank. If that gets covered with rust and other such debris, you can also have a starving for fuel situation.

Rider want go up hills good

It depends on your interpritation of a hill, most manufacturers will only recommend a maximum 15 degrees due to the risk of tipping the machine over.

My craftsman tractor wont pull itself up a hill. Runs fine but just comes to a stop when trying to go up a hill. Maby the ground drive belt is slipping????

Sounds like your drive belt is slipping alright. Need to tighten your clutch rod. One end of rod adjust. Have someone help you, move the clutch petal and your helper watch and see rod moves.

Our 24 HP Craftsman mower won't go uphill...whats wrong?

Excessive slip under load, such as climbing a hill, is usually a worn belt. It is slipping too much with the extra load of verticle movement. Replacing the main drive belt should get the mower back to original levels of power and therefore back up the hill.

Craftsman mower with 26hp kohler smokes when i cut on hill, why?

what happens is the oil gets into the valves which will come out the exhaust when on level ground after a side to side or going straight down because the valve's are in the front of engine which is pointing to the front of mower you wont hurt the engine if it does that i would just check the oil often to make sure it doesn't run out
