You have to buy a wall remote compatible with your hand-held transmitter. Do you know the make/model of fan?

i got a new remote switch box to put inside the fan, wiring in the lights was a snap but i have a red pink grey and yellow wire that control the fan and i should have tested the wires before i unplugged and re wired the light because the fan was running on low speed when we flipped the switch on thewall sending power to the fixture itself now i suppose there are only 16 different combonations to send power to the fan unless you factor in that maybe the red and pink are high and low respectivly and grey is "close" to black and yellow is white then you gotta have a switch to go high or low, God save us all and bless the person who can tell me what the other 4 wires go to

I find no replacement parts outlets. But you are in luck because Lowes and Home Depot sell replacement remote units that you can replace yours with. Choices vary but all will offer
the full range of controls including lights, dimming and speed control. Just requires a little DIY and
always turn off the breaker before repairing. Good luck.

The 12 Volts being applied will spark initially. There are large capacitors on the input powers supply rail. Once they charge no more spark. The protect light comes on when you apply remote voltage because you are actually telling the amp to turn on and there is a problem with it like an output transistor is shorted or your power supply could have a problem. Instructions on how to set up / programme a universal remote:
1) See the code form and find the 3-digit figures for your device.

The replacement remote will work fine. All you have to watch out for is that the remote receiver and the remote transmitter are a matched set.
