My Bass Drum trigger just stopped working .

Bass trigger was acting up on my DTXPRESS IV. Now it just stopped working. All cables are good. tried new cables, but no fix. Emailed YAMAHA but no responce yet. In a real mess because this set is used live on a regular basis and no one has a trigger to lend me.

This is an easy problem to fix. The piezo piece on the inside of your bass drum trigger uses a double sided tape that is fixed to a metal disc. the piezo trigger just fell off. mine did the same thing. I actually glued mine with epoxy and have not looked back.

My bass drum pad doesn't work I get a drum sound when I put the lead into the module but nothing from the kick pad. I tried another lead to a tom and the bass drum but this wouldn't work either. I...

If you have already tried a different cable and it didn't work, then the issue might be with the bass drum pad itself. You can try the following steps to troubleshoot:
  1. Check the connection: Make sure that the cable is firmly plugged into both the bass drum pad and the module. If the connection is loose, the signal may not be transmitted properly.
  2. Check the sensitivity setting: Check the sensitivity settings on the module for the bass drum pad. It is possible that the sensitivity is set too low, and the pad is not registering hits.
  3. Check the pad: Check the bass drum pad for any visible damage or wear. It is possible that the trigger inside the pad is damaged or malfunctioning.
  4. Reset the module: Try resetting the module to its default settings. Sometimes, this can fix issues with individual pads.
If none of these steps work, it may be necessary to open up the pad and check the trigger mechanism inside. If you are not comfortable doing this yourself, you can take it to a repair technician.

My DTXPRESS 4 was dropped on the ground . Not too hard but none the less dropped. now the kick wont trigger from the drum brain. Where can i get it fixed ?

This depends if the cables were plugged in or not...If they were, probably the jack for the defective input has had the solder to the board broken OR the cable has been damaged. Move the kick to a tom inout and see if the trigger works... If it does, then the Kick inout connector is probably broken away from the solder. Unit will have to be opened for inspection to find the defect. If the kick doesn't work at all in the other position, the cable from the kick MAY have been stretched or brolen.

My Yamaha electronic bass pedel is not working. If I unplug the connection to the computer and plug it back in I will hear only 1 sound of the base drum. Could the base pedel round pad which is hit by the...

There is a piezo sensor behind the pad typically. This can be dislodged or damaged. FIRST check your cables and try plugging the bass into another inout and see if it will trigger that sound. If not, you will need to repair the bass pedal.

SOME pedals have a sensitivity control which is a tiny pot accessable through a hole... this too is easily damaged if wrong type screwdriver is used to adjust it.

be sure and check for a broken cable, especially near the ends.

I have an electric triggered bass drum pad, and it will not trigger the sound through the machine unless I practically slam the pad the model is a KP65 bass drum pad, on a yahmaha DTXpressIV

Test the pad driving a different sound... If the pad is weak, the sensor probably came loose in it... They are a piezo disc usually like in older musical cards.

Some of the triggers have an adjustment pot that is very tender... ALSO there usually is a setting in the machine for sensitivity.

If this has just gone bad, it is likely the sensor came loose... repairable if one opens the pad...

Sampling into yamaha dtxpress iv

If you have a sampler, you could midi out of the DTX brain into the midi in of the sampler to trigger the sounds. If not ,try downloading KORE2 from Native Instruments onto your computer and triggering it using the above mentioned method . Midi out from your brain to Midi in on your computer. Hope this helps.

Problems with DTXpress III special bass drum pad

If you are comfortable with working on it and the warrantee is up try taking the pad apart to see if the piezo element has come loose from its mounting or if the solder joint is loose. If that isn't the problem save your settings and initialize the set according to the instructions in your manual.

Where to connect 3rd cymbal cable end to drum machine

well i am not sure what r u talking about, but as i met the same problem,i assume that you mean you lack one cable...What you should do is:
1.Connect the cable to the cymbal. Then connect it the ending of the cable with bass drum(not with the device)
2.Connect the bass drum with the device,as there will be 2 cables in the bass drum. Then plug it into the device & you will be ok.

I want to connect my YAMAHA DTXPRESS IV SPECIAL to my PC

Any pro-audio interface with a midi input would do the trick. There are numerous products out there that offer this. You can get a simple usb midi interface, and connect the Yamaha up with a midi cable running from the midi out of the drum module to the nidi in of the interface.

one of the simpler ones:...
