Toshiba 50HX70, How can I fix the blue projection light looks like it is curved at the top and bottom of the screen when we use the converge adjustment. It will not allow us to centre the blue at the bottom and top.
When the convergence amplifier ICs go bad (STK392-xxx), they RARELY cause more than one color to go out. The fact that the top and bottom of the picture are effected indicates the vertical convergence IC. Replace both, and while you're in there check the bias resistors... it is likely one of these is open. Once the ICs have been replaced (as well as any open resistors), customer convergence followed up with the auto convergence should do the trick.

it is a problem with the convergence board most likely. i had one go
out after 4 years. then 3 years later it just went out again. I wish
there was a cheap way to fix it.
