The issue is likely due to the programming (or the lack of) of the scan gun. It is entirely possible that the UPC bar code is not configured in your gun as a valid bar code.

You can remedy this by programming the scan gun to recognize the UPC bar code (and any other bar codes you may need to scan). Use the link below to download the programming guides for this scan gun.

Reboot the computer.

press ctrl alt delete to restart or reboot. you can also use your mouse to click on start button ,go to restart and click.

The PDT6840 has 3 files loaded into it at any one time LWP.HEX, UDP.HEX and an application. SLOADI comes up on the screen during boot. You may require reloading of the software to enable this function again.

Howdy.

1. Put down the gun, remove either USB cable from either the back of the PC or printer and step away from the printer. :)

2. Uninstall all software fro the printer using the Control Panel/Uninstall Programs.

3. In Control Panel, DELETE all printers you are NOT using including this one.

4. Reboot your machine in SAFE MODE. (When your machine reboots, keep tapping the F8 key, till you get a text menu. Select SAFE MODE (1st option on the list.))

5.When you're on the desktop (it will look distoreted - that's fine) go back to the Control Panel and choose Printers. Look again to make sure NO printers that will NOT be on your machine is listed.

6. Reboot normally - run your anti-virus program after you update it and reinstall the printer. (DO NOT attach the USB cable until you are asked to do so.)

go to start in the left corner below in the desktop and click it then you will get "turn off" or "shut down" click on it then you will get the option for "stand by","turn off" and "restart", just click on "restart", and you computer will reboot, if you click on turn off then the pc will shut down
