Screen discolour one of the two reddish smears is moving around the screen,then after about an hour it"s gone. is this screen burn?

depends on what type of tv it is , if its a cathode ray tube tv then yes you can, if its a lcd or plasma then no you cant, you could try a program called pixel protector on the latter two types of tv, this will play white noise continuously on your tv to try to make the pixels rest , there is no guarantee that it will work, but worth a shot at least

I the burning is bad and all you can see is Sky TV's frames or Sport frames, the way to reduce the effect, and this is official, is to turn up the screen brightness on a white background. This will burn the rest of the screen to a similar level!
Unbelievable but having done that for a number of hours, when one increases the brightness to compensate for a burnt screen, it is slightly better.
(I do not advocate that, I would not let it burn in the first place.)

if it is then the monitor has gone bad and if not update the bios

motherboard has gone out cost is about $700 including labor i just was quoted that price mine is doing the same

This not repairable,it a LCD screen have minor pixels cracks in the LCD screen itself,some body hit the LCD Screen with somethings.

Ur tv have only two possibility.The singinal tuner board,replaced that.Still same prob.Than it can't not be repair it the LCD screen is damage.

sounds like a burn spot on one of the tubes open up to get access to the tubes and cover each one individually to determine which one and replace

If it's a deguass problem, you can glue some very small magnets to the sides of the crt tube itself, it could be the shadow mask, inside the monitor, and if it is then nothing will fix it, if you can get a deguass coil from somewhere that would tell the story real quickly
