How do I connect the cable that goes between the top and base?

I had to remove the top to repair a problem that occurred when I removed a jammed piece of paper from the printer. Since the flexible ribbon cable is quite short, it pulled out of the "conenctor" located in the top of the printer when I attempted to set the top down.

I have no idea how to reconnect the two ribbon cables to the PCB.

Hi,
Dont you see any socket which can fit this ribbon cable on the PCB where you disconnected it ?

try looking at the manual to make sure where it has to be connected.
I am not exactly sure which cable you are talking about else, I would it into the manual.

If the ribbon cable has snapped there is no point trying to repair it any further, unless you have the exact replacement cable.
getting the spare part and having it the printer serviced could be time consuming and end up costing the price of a new printer and more

best regards

There should be a wide plastic connector on each piece it ran between.
You will usually have to slide a little plastice piece out or flip it up where the ribbon cable connects. After that, you may or may not have to use a little force to get the ribbon cable back in.
If the connector piece on the board is flat as apposed to facing up, there should be a plastic tab on the ribbon cable, this generally faces up.
This goes for both connectors.

Hope this helps!
Let me know if it doesn't and we can go from there,
Simon.

My olimpia spledid piu Air Conditioner is flashing 8 on the display screen, it wont turn on at all. Anyone know what it means or how to fix it

In our case this error means that the grandkids have jammed jigsaw puzzle pieces in the main blower at the front. The manual says to return to service centre for repair. If you've got a philips head screwdriver, you can fix it yourself. First REMOVE POWER CORD FROM WALL. Remove back cover, undo 7 phillips head screws, note the bottom 2 are longer for assembly. Remove front cover by undoing 3 screws on each side. Be careful with fine ribbon cable you can unplug it at the connector on the unit. Remove whatever has jammed the main blower, in our case it was jigsaw puzzle pieces, that could not be seen when the unit was assembled. Replace front cover, don't forget the ribbon cable. The front cover sort of goes back on from the bottom front first, and is snug over the top. Replace back cover, (remove dust from internal radiator fins first). Leave turned off for an hour or so if you had the unit upside down to remove blockage. Boom you just saved yourself a couple of hundred bucks probably.

Replace throttle cable

There are two cables leading to the throttle. Both have two pieces.
Cable 1 goes from the throttle about 12" long and connects to an adjustment piece joining it to cable2 which goes to the throttle body.
Cable 3 also goes from the throttle and is about 12" long and connects to and adjustment piece joining it to cable 4 which goes to the spring on the throttle body.
To change any of them you must loosen the adjustment piece until the ends can be removed from it.
Then to change cables 1 and 3 you have to remove the throttle cover on the grip. you will be able to see how they are removed. Then reverse these steps to install the new cable.
To change cables 2 and 4 in no more difficult but more time consuming as you will have to route these longer cables from the adjuster to where they connect to the throttle body.
When cables have been install and all parts reassembled you can carefully adjust the tension on the cables until the throttle responds the way you like it.
Hope this helps

13.20.00 JAM INSIDE TOP COVER

Without seeing the printer or knowing what you have already done....a "13.20 Jam inside top cover" error means that a jam occurred in the registration assembly area.
Remove the toner cartridge.
Remove all paper from inside printer.
You should see a metal flap. That's part of the "registration assembly".
Lift it up and make sure that all paper pieces are removed. Use a flashlight if you can.
Make sure that the media size that you are using matches the tray settings and the dial on the tray.
Reinstall the cartridge and try again.

How do I clean my blu ray player?

Hi, Music and game discs collect dust and dirt on their surfaces overtime. This build-up can interfere with the sound and performance of both discs and the player system. Cleaning fluids and cloths will aid in keeping a Blu-ray discs clean, but to clean the lens of the player, some dissembling is required. Below are instructions on how to open up a Blu-ray player and clean the lens on the inside.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

* Blu-ray player
* Screwdriver
* Lens cleaner
* Cotton swab

Turn Blu-ray player over and remove the edge screws holding the bottom plate onto the drive using a small Philip's head screwdriver. These screws are located opposite each other on the bottom edge and one has a metal piece attached. Remember to reattach the metal piece when replacing screws later.

Remove the bottom two edge screws located near the center of the base and the three screws holding the base plate at the opposite edge from the screws in step 1. Again, one of the edge screws will have a metal piece that goes back in place later.

Extract the motherboard connectors. Once the screws are out, simply lift the lid and pull out the connector. The cable remains connected to the motherboard.

Remove the motherboard by lifting it and turning it to the right to pull out the cable connection. Do not yank the cable out. Grip the end plug firmly to release the cable.

Turn the player back over the right way and remove top cover to unscrew the four sides and one top screw holding the lens cover in place. The lens cover moves to the right so lens is accessible for cleaning.

Use cotton swab dipped in a little lens cleaner and clean the lens using a circular motion. Dry the lens using same motion with other end of the cotton swab.

Reassemble machine by reversing these steps.

Thanks for using fixya........

My Epson LQ-590/LQ-2090 keeps having paper jams located just beyond the tractor feed.. help

When a paper jam occurs during printing for some reason, the printer beeps, displaying the message <PAPER JAM> in the display. When a paper jam occurs, remove the jammed paper using the following procedure, and then resume the job. If the message that indicates the paper jam does not disappear even after removing the jammed paper following the procedure, there is a possibility that torn pieces of paper are still left inside the printer. Inspect each part of the printer again, and completely remove all pieces of jammed paper.

Stuck in reverse. gear shift disconnected.

That ball shaped piece is directly connected to the fork inside the transmission. If this is broken then the trans needs to come apart, at least on the top end and the old fork removed and any gear damamge repaired before the new one goes in. Best to take this type of repair to a local trans shop as it is not a project for a novice.
