That may because the region code of your Blu-ray disc doesn't match the region code of your Blu-ray player. To fix this issue, you can seek help from some Blu-ray copy software that is able to decrypt copy protection and region code of your disc, so that you can play it on any Blu-ray player. To sort out the best Blu-ray copy software, I found a post including some recommendations for help: https://www.leawo.org/entips/top-software-to-copy-and-backup-blu-ray.html?fixya=1409
Blu-ray Disc Association (BDA) said blu-ray Discs with capacity up to C will not be compatible with existing blu-ray players. Although manufacturers such as Sharp and TDK have developed 100-gigabyte blu-ray discs, these large-capacity discs are impractical at this stage because existing Blu-ray players cannot handle discs larger than 50GB.
Why don't you play blu-ray on PC. It's quite easy and what you should do is to read disc with drive and play it with free Blu-ray player software. Here is the recommendation. You can have a check.

Once you have found that Blu-ray player won't play Blu-ray disc, the first thing is to have a further check on your Blu-ray player because this is one of the main reasons that may result in the failure. What you need to do is to reset your Blu-ray player in the first place.
1. Remove the Blu-ray disc from the Blu-ray player' drive.
2. Power off the Blu-ray player and disconnect wire.
3. Unplug the Blu-ray player from the output TV and disconnect the cable.
4. Wait in patience and remain the Blu-ray player power off for minutes.
5. Plug the Blu-ray cord and connect the Blu-ray player with to the TV.
6. Power on the Blu-ray player.
7. Insert the Blu-ray disc to the player one more time.
Due to the nature of players often if the optical Pickup unit inside is dirty or failing Blu-rays will not play but DVD's will.

BD-P1000 Update Solution
The solution that worked for me: I went to www.samsung.com/ca and downloaded the Samsung BD-P1000 player's firmware update to my desktop. When opened, I was directed to"burn" a DVD on my computer. I then inserted the new DVD in my Blu-Ray player. The player automatically checked and confirmed player model number and registration and uploaded information from the DVD and the update was complete. The BD-P1000 then flawlessly played the rented Blu-Ray disc of "The Scorpion King".
Thank You Samsung!

I'm having the same problem. had my Blu-ray and my cable box plugged into my reciever. Blu-ray kept cutting out and not finding a signal while watching my Rome DVDs. I swapped HDMI cables by just switch which cable went out of my blu-ray ( I didn't change what ports they were plugged into on the reciever. That cleared up that problem. I'd assume it was a faulty HDMI cable except that it works fine on the cable box. Anyways, we were watching Iron Man on Blue-Ray and it starts to skip about 2 thirds through the movie. Same as you I updated the firmware, disabled BC-Live, No luck Don't know if the problem is hte Bluray player , the reciever or what. Everything is up to date so I don't get it at all.

It sounds like the bluray laser is worn out. Try cleaning the lens with a Blu-ray lens cleaner. If that dosen't help it might be the blu-ray laser it self. The laser is dead. If you are under warranty the call the manufacture for service. Shop around for current retail prices. Bluray players have gone down alot and it might be better to go ahead a buy a new player.
