Stalls When engaging the blade clutch

Tractor stall when pulling up the blade engagement knob. If I pull the choke and engagement knop together I can keep the tractor running, but with the choke disengaged and the blades engaged the tracktor does not have the power to drive and mow the lawn

Check that the blade brake is disengaging. Slip belt off blade spindles and check that they spin freely. Check underside of deck for clogged grass, ropes, wire, etc.

SOURCE: blades not engaging

Tim, first turn key on engage and disengage blade button. See if you can hear the clutch making a clicking noise. If not check switch., if not your problem is in the clutch.

Have a craftsman EZ3 917.272121 mower engine e stalls when blade switch is pulled

If you are sitting on the tractor seat and the engine stalls when engaging the PTO mover blades I would check the switch under the seat.

This seat has a saftey switch to assure that the operator is in a safe location before engaging the the blades. Also if the blades are engaged and the operator leaves the seat the blades will stop. If a young rider with insufficient weight the blades will not engage.

Scotts L2048 lawn tractor deck wont engage

You need to check the wires from the clutch, with the ignition on pull the pto switch out there should be a 12 volt supply at the wires if not replace the pto switch, if you have 12 volts then it is the clutch itself, they are not realy repairable, so may need a replacment.

14sb engine running when blade clutch is engaged the lawnmower stalls.

Normally I believe this mower to have a Kawasaki engine, and the main jet and 'pilot air hole' need to be cleaned. You are running a lean condition, and when the blade is engaged, the engine does not have enough fuel to continue the extra load. A small test for this is to engage the blade and the choke at the same time. If the engine has enough fuel to continue running and engage the blade, this confirms the lean fuel condition. Cleaning those jets will solve the issue.
