Hey! You need some DVD Ripping Software to help you convert DVD to MPEG or some other video format. I recommend you use this DVD Ripper which can help you convert recorded dvd to MPEG video or other digital format such as avi, wmv, flv, mkv, etc. Hope that helps.
The possibility of this varies from handycam to handycam but it is most likely related to the type of disk you are using.some disks can only record one session. it is important to read the instructions that came with the disk.generally disks marked 'DVD-R' can only record one session whereas disks marked DVD-RW can record several sessions and can even be erased and recorded on again as new.
pse reply if this helps you

Hate to say this but Sony consumer products are junk. I have a box full of Sony camcorders that have stopped working. Yuk. Canon, whose pro-sumer products are closer to the professional end.
You need to convert avi files to dvd format before burning, otherwise the player won't recognize them. Google "avi to dvd" and you'll find a number of free or pay programs that will do the conversion for you.
If you are playing different region dvds, they can be of different color formats also
(US = NTSC, Europe = PAL). If your television is not multi-format then non-compatible
DVDs will play black and white. The solution is to purchase a mutli-format TV (accepts
both PAL and NTSC formats)
If you are using the s-video jack to connect the DVD to the TV, the jack could be loose or the wire could be bad. The s-video cable has 2 signals, the black-and-white (luminance) and the color (chroma). If the chroma signal is not getting through, the picture will be in black and white.
